Hi all. I use to work for DCL (about 1.5 years ago) and as such I have a few friends over there in Florida. I am thinking about flying over (from the UK) to go visit them (and a couple of other friends I have). The only issue I have is that will only take a couple of days, and would like to supliment my visit with a trip do WDW. I have been there a quite a bit before, sometimes on my own and never had an issue (people look after you when you are a dcl crew member!). I know this is strange, but I have a 'niggle' about visiting alone, being a 26 year old male.... you know what the world thinks about solo males now!

What do you think, is it all that strange? Is there anywhere to meet similar aged singles? and, what are the parks like in Feb?

Cheers,
Stephen

At anytime of the year you can find like minded singles visiting the world. I took my first solo trip in march of this year and while I am much older than you are I had a blast. Post your dates in one of the threads here and then keep checking out the boards. There are alot of single people in your age group on the Singles who Are for The Love of Disney Thread so jump right in and introduce yourself . I also know that there are some who already have plans for a February Vacation at The World :goodvibes

I've done solo visits a few times- always at the end of a business trip. One convention was at Disney. What I discovered was that there were a lot of single guys doing the same thing... they stayed an extra day or two at the start or end of the convention. Most of them spent at least some time in the Parks alone. With the amount of conferences and conventions Disney has, this has to be happening all the time.

Doing it myself, I noticed that a lot of people just don't pay attention to what's going on around them. They're too involved in their own experience.

On top of that, I find that there are always a lot of single riders... especially on the big attractions. The last time I was there in a group, we talked to a guy who was alone in line for Tower of Terror. His wife and kids refused to ride, so they went elsewhere while he rode.

You'll also probably end up talking to a lot of married guys. There's a phenomena that occurs at Disney... married guys are stuck with their wives and kids for 24 hours a day on vacation. They're desperate for male contact- not in a freaky way- they just want to talk about sports, politics, and women! I see this happening all the time on the busses and in line.

Although there might be some people who look at you and think "child molester!!!", I would guess it's probably pretty rare. I wouldn't worry about it.

Nothing wrong with being an adult male going to the parks by your self. I have gone to the parks solo many times and I'm a 20 something solo male myself. And i'm planning trips to Disneyland and Disneyland Paris as well. No one will really pay any attention and the CMs will treat you the same as any other guest. Disney is meant to be enjoyed by people all ages and sexes and by them selves and with others, just go and have the time of your life! :thumbsup2

I'd just like to add to the pp responses, that because so many business conventions are held at CSR & CR, it's very common to see solo males and females at wdw. You'll have a great time :goodvibes
