First off:

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Just a few quick questions:

  • Is there anything I should "know" about BWPPI? (I already have my reservation, just want to avoid any crazy surprises)
  • I am driving up Thursday night and planning on getting up early for Disneyland rope-drop. For those who have done this before: what time do you reccomend getting there to be in front of the line? (Disneyland opens at 8am with no magic morning hours.)
  • Is there any way to get Magic Morning Hours (for Saturday) without staying in a Disney hotel or buying the 3-day parkhopper? (I figure probably not since if there was I'd have seen it on the boards by now, but no harm in asking!)
  • This is my first visit to Disneyland since February! Besides the new rides, what new stuff do I not want to miss?!

This is my first visit for more than one day, my first visit since getting a 'real job,' and my first visit since discovering the DIS boards! So, needless to say, I'm very excited!!!

I don't have much advice, but just wanted to say YAY! & Have fun :)

BWPPI, like all motels stay at the back further away from the staircase, which is also at the far end so find a balance. Also upstairs for a quieter stay. The breakfast is next door, upstairs, and though in Captain Kidds which gets a F- on the DIS, the BWPPI breakfast is separate and fine.

For Rope Drop 30-45 minutes early. I can't recall the special gate but maybe it's 13. The line goes along a tree and then sometimes split in half right in front of two gates. Hence instead of two parallel regular lines, you get in one regular line that can move twice as fast. Hope this makes sense and I wish I could remember the gate number, I just know it when I see it.

For MM no sorry, unless you dine at Plaza Inn with Minnie and Friends for about $32 and get a 7:10 reservation and finish quick to get out and go to the MM attractions. Not sure it's a good idea since you get a hot breakfast at the BWPPI and may only get 10-15 minutes of MM. But that is the trick.

Soundsational parade is a big improvement over the last parade. Lots of detail to take in. HM and Space will have mega lines so ride them early and use FP which on HM may be available for the HMH version. Enjoy the Halloween decorations look at the pumpkins in Big Thunder Ranch.

YAY! Not long for you now :)

I just got into double digits..lol. Seems so far away.

I'm in the single digits too! The wait is killing me.

I'm very excited to go on the new rides since the last time I went. Also, I can't wait to see world of color again.

We leave TOMORROW so I'll post when I can re: the special gate skiingfast mentioned. I think I wrote down 13 as one of the ones to look for in my notes at home (there were 2 other ones).

I plan to be at the gates at 7:20 am per HydroGuy's rec for an 8 am opening on Friday. We'll see if we can make the 6:20 am for the 7 am MM on Saturday...

I thought I had read here that they were 13, 20 and 21. Can someone more expert chime in?:flower3:

Those sound right to me, but like I said it's hard for me to remember exaclty when I'm not standing in the esplanade. Perhaps someone will confirm today of smiles33 will let us know.

The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland and Little Known Facts about Disneyland both give gate 13 as the one to go too. One of those books (forgot which one, think the first) also says 20 and 21.

THANKS for confirming! My notes are at home and I'm at work (last day before we leave, how can anyone expect me to concentrate????). :rolleyes1

When we stayed at BWPPI this summer we were on the third floor (the top) towards the front of the back building (if that makes sense). It was very quiet, and that was at the end of June.

If you have never taken the time to see the Aladdin show in DCA, I would highly recommend it. We had never heard much about it before reading these dis boards, and we saw it for the first time this summer. The whole family loved it!

Cool, looking forward to hearing about that. I'm probably gonna wind up getting there by 6:45 or 7:00 since it's not like I'll be sleeping much anyways! :stitch:

Cool, thanks. I will request that. I saw Aladdin once before, over a year ago, but my GF has never seen it. It's one of the things we're most looking forward to!! :dance3:

How exciting!!! Can't wait to get there. I, too, just got to double digits this week. Seems like forever before we load up the car and drive down....
