single digits are here 1 sleeps to go!

Love Washington! Number one for me was to stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial exactly where Martin Luther King said "I Have a Dream....." , goosebumps! They have carved the words into the steps there and the view down the mall to the Capitol is breathtaking :)

Andona

I can't wait to see this also. Sounds amazing.

I agree..and totally mind blowing at night..the whole city takes on a "disney main St type glow"......I need to go back for a week at least, just to do the Smithsonian's..all 9 of them.

dont expect the white house to be huge, houses out in kellyville are bigger:rotfl:

I definitely want to tour the monuments at night, think we will do this our first evening in DC.

WAMUMof4 - what a massive trip. You will be exhausted but so very happy at the end, you will have seen so much.

You will have to haul it in NYC with so few days but it is totally doable. Such an awesome city and so much to see.

I realise you won't have time for a TR but if you could pop in every now and again and let us know how you are going that would be great.

I reckon I would be happy to go and spend a month in NY and a month at Disney maybe one day;) This trip we just plan on going to Madison square gardens, Rockfeller, Mary Poppins, the zoo, FAO Schwartz and can't decide on the opening night of the US Open.

what an amazing trip!!! you are going to have a blast!!

almost down to the final week now :)
:thumbsup2Thanks I am actually looking forward to a more laid back trip this time no crazy 3 days of driving to get somewhere I still can't believe we are actually checked into the same hotel for 12 nightspixiedust:

Sprintcar highway, they are here? We go to the highway at night last year, the Department of Health that his brother was the demolition derby run. Many years ago, I have been to, but have forgotten how noisy, muddy and smelly.

I'm not really sure where you went to the speedway but we are going to race tracks yep it's noisy, muddy and smelly and my kids and DH  it the great thing about having family with different likes is the variety of things you get to do and see:)

All the best for a safe trip. May your family holiday provide you with many memories.

Onboard Dining
Question:What should I wear to dinner?
Answer:
Dining Dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, most meals are "Cruise Casual"—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops. Most cruises also have special theme nights with additional attire requirements. Here's a breakdown of these events by cruise itinerary.

On 4-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One "dress-up night"—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
Final night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress code at Palo on all cruises:

Men: dress pants and shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit
Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes

Dress code at Remy on all cruises:

A tuxedo or jacket (sports or suit jacket) is required with dress pants for men. Ties are optional.
A cocktail dress, pant suit or skirt/blouse is required for women.
Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes.

For cruises that request formalwear attire, Guests can pre-order tailored formalwear rentals and have it delivered directly to their staterooms upon arrival. To learn more, visit Cruiseline Formalwear.
