Single Digit Dance/Need Help w/ POR Room Request

OK, We're down to the wire now and I need some expert DIS advise, I understand that its best to call CR within a couple days of arriving, so here is what we'd like, please tell me what to request. We would like to stay in the Mansion section, would like to be near the food court, main pool and transportation. Would that be Magnolia? We like to be on the first floor, is it too noisy (We don't mind a little noise?) Any other guidance would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA!!

I would also ask for a corner room with 2 windows - just makes the room seem a bit larger, and ask to be near a quiet pool as well. I think Magnolia or Parterre are great mansions to request in terms of location. We always request a first floor as well, since it's a pain to wait for the elevators or climb the stairs after a long day at the parks.

I believe Parterre may be a bit closer to the main building. Oak Manor is the closest, but it's also smoking. No matter what mansion your in, you will love this resort. All the rooms have been recently refurbished.

My family stayed in Oak Manor 3 years ago. The room did not smell like a smoking room. We were on the first level facing the small pool. We were literally 30 feet from the pool and a two minute walk to the main lobby area. We loved the location! Something to think about!

is that far from the main pool? I don't mind taking a smoking room, if the location is better.

It is beyond the main lobby a little ways, just over a bridge. Not a bad hike at all. My kids didn't want to swim in the main pool. They had the smaller pool to themselves most of the time. I believe you can pull up a map of POR on this website. I would check that out. I was very happy with POR. (and the location of our room)
