Single day ticket purchase - could use pointers!

Trying to sort out the best way to buy the single day tickets.

If I purchase them online from Disney - I chatted briefly with a CM online, I will get an email with the ticket info, and can apply one of them to my own magic band from a previous trip. He mentioned my Mom would have to pick up the plastic card at the gate.

Did he mean the gates at the TTC after we park and head in?

Or am I best to just buy them right at the gate on our way in and both of us use the card?
 
Purchase them now and link them in your MDE account to your Profile and your Mom's Profile and you'll be able to book 3 FPs for you and your Mom.

Take the printed ticket to a ticket window at the TTC and get it converted to a card/plastic ticket for your Mom.
 

I don't think you can enter the parks without the plastic, so you'd have to use GR outside the gate.

In your case, you would do well to arrive early. I don't know if you are planning to arrive for Rope Drop of an ADR, but if you are- you would do well to allow quite a bit of time to get through the GS line, especially if you are planning to be there on a busy day. (say near one of the upcoming holidays)

Thanks! Unfortunately, the only day it can be is the 25th, the day before Thanksgiving. I know it will be crazy busy, but it can't be any other day earlier.

My hope really is to get there for 8am rope drop, and our hotel is only 5 minutes away, but if we can't, we can't.

Ok - So I've added two tickets to my cart and am at the Delivery Method screen. There doesn't seem to be an "email" option - there is US delivery or International Delivery (me) but that is too late. There is also "will call" - is that the one I use? Will they email me confirmation that I can apply to my MDE account?

Yes, use Will Call and link up the confirmation numbers they will provide after you complete the purchase.

You'll need to take the print out, credit card that you used, and ID when you go to pick up your Mom's ticket.
 
Thanks! Just trying to make it as smooth as possible for the day - it didn't take much arm twisting to get her to agree to go, but I don't want to overwhelm her with my excitement! :rolleyes1
 
And of course, just now, as I'm trying to process payment/put card info in....there is now a server error, and the site is down!

Could you visit Disney Springs anytime before the day of your visit? You could buy one and activate it there.

Of course, if you think she will NEVER visit again, it might not be worth it, but you can keep MB and use them for every visit.

She'll probably never go again - so for the one day, it is kind of pointless.

What really sucks is I have 5 bands in my house. 6 if you count the one my oldest just came back from Disney with.

Is it possible to de-activate one from one family member and link it to her?

What you can do is link your Mom's ticket to another family member's Profile and have her use that MagicBand. The name doesn't matter, but, you can go in to that specific Profile and Edit the name.

As long as it's a brand new ticket (which it is) your Mom's biometric fingerscan gets linked to the new ticket.
 
Well that could work - I wondered if we could just have her be "Julia" for the day and use that band.....

Now I just have to wait for the Disney website to be fixed - and see if the charge hit my card or not - I don't want to accidentally buy tickets twice!
