Single Day Ticket for Arrival Day

We will most likely be switching our plan from a 9 day package to an 8 day package with a 1 day room only at the beginning to take advantage of a discount that starts the day after we arrive.

Even adding on 1 day park tickets, we will still save a substantial amount. My question though - do I buy the one day tickets now, or just wait and buy them at the gate the day we arrive so that we can decide then and there where we really want to go.

Fears:
Never been around Thanksgiving (we arrive day after) - Any chance MK will have a closure and I'm screwed w/ a 1 day MK only ticket that I can't use if I get MK tickets?
Or if I wait, we won't be able to book FP+ and we're going to need them that day if we realistically want to ride anything.

If I buy now - what Park would you suggest? Flight is supposed to arrive around 11:30am. DH is saying Epcot. Its our normal day 1 park, but its also day 1 of Candelight Processional. What will that do to the crowds there?

TIA!

Do not buy separate 1 day tickets. Just book an 8 day package with 9 day tickets.

You can use your package tickets up to 3 days early. You'll just need to visit guest services to have them activated.

This! (also, you don't buy park specific tickets. Any ticket will let you choose which one of the four parks you want to visit each day)

That's not true anymore for the one-day tickets - the one-day ticket for MK costs more than the one-day ticket for the other three parks.

Wow! I didn't know that! Is it just the one day tix?

Well awesome news for me - she was able to get me the discount without doing a room only reservation, so I don't have to worry about it. :cool1:
