I wondered if my friends at the DIS could help me creat my own custom touring plan. Here's our plan, we're only doing 1 park day this trip(taking time to do some other things we dont' usually do like water parks and Disney Quest). The one park day will be split between MK and Epcot. Our trip is mid June, our party consists of 2 adults and 3 kids ages 9,12, & 12. We'll arrive at opening, no EMH for us. Here's what we'd like to accomplish:

MK
Buzz Lightyear
Tiki birds
Haunted Mansion
Small World
Jungle Cruise
Mickey's Philharmagic
Pirates of the Caribbean
Space Mountain
Stitch's Great Escape
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Walt Disney Railroad
And somewhere in the middle of this we're planning lunch at the Plaza Restaurant...what time would you make a PS for?

Then on to:
Epcot
Ellen's Energy Adventure
Honey I shrunk the Audience
Journey into imagination
Mission Space
Spaceship Earth
Test Track
Living Seas(maybe)
Soaring

None of these things are "must do's" they're just what we'd like to do. Don't really know if it's doable, we'll just give it our best shot without running around like crazy people. In what order would you do things? What would you fast pass?

Thanks!

I thought I'd lay out my plan and see what you all think.
MK

Start in Tomorrowland
Space mountain(or grab a fastpass for it)
Buzz Lightyear
Stitch
TTA
Then over to Fantasyland
Mickey's Philharmagic
Small World
Then on to Adventure Land
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
Tiki Birds
Then on to Liberty Square
Haunted Mansion
Then ride the Railroad around the park and head to Epcot

At Epcot:
Head straight to Soarin and get FP's
Ummm...this is where I give up. Tell me your plan for epcot.

Also, if we use my version of the MK plan, what point in my plan do you think we'd be up to around 11:30am? That's about when I plan to do lunch I think.

Thanks for any and all input!

ETA: Changed the order around based on DISers advice.

Here's what I'd do (I've used your rides)
MK 1st thing -- get there 30 min. before park opening:
Start with Tomorrowland
Ride Space Mtn. 1st thing (hopefully you won't need FP, but get if must)
Ride Buzz
Ride Stitch - ick
Ride TTA (will be fun after having ridden Space Mtn)
Walk over to Adventureland (it's not too far, train not worth the backtracking)
Ride Jungle Cruise (get FP if must)
Ride POC
Watch Tiki Birds
Head to Liberty Square and Ride Haunted Mansion
Walk to Fantasyland and see Mickey's Philharmagic
Ride It's a Small World
Go back to Jungle Cruise if you have FPed and ride
Exit MK and on to Epcot

If you want to eat lunch at 11:30, I'd make it a quick snack at MK. Truthfully, I'd hold off until I got to Epcot and got the Soarin' or TT FPs behind me, then eat something.

Then on to Epcot
Normally I'd say grab FP for TT as soon as you get there, but my guess is that Soarin' is going to be mega popular - grab FP for that before they are gone. Get a FP for TT as soon as you can after that, because they'll be gone quickly, too.

Think your Epcot plan is going to really depend upon those two rides' FP times. MS will also have a good-sized standby line. TT does have a single-rider line that moves quickly.

I think it will be mid to late afternoon before we get to Epcot....we'd be starving if we waited until then. I think we've got to eat at MK. You're right about Epcot, it'll depend on the length of the lines and times of fast passes and stuff. Who know's if there'll be FP available for Soarin by the time we get over there.

Yes, I see what you mean. Unless you cut down your MK list (which I am not advocating, as I love MK!), you're going to eat lunch there.

I'm bumping your thread to see if you get other helpful responses. :wizard:

Mmmm...you won't see much of a wait for those Fantasyland attractions if you did Tomorrowland first. So I'd start there (with Space Mtn), and go counter-clockwise. It also cuts down on walking & backtracking. Leave Adventureland for last.

Thanks Len! I'm always thrilled when you respond to my threads! I had it that way because Fantasyland is always insane later in the day but I'll take your advice. What would you do once you got to Epcot? Start by checking out Soarin' and wing it from there?

Thanks for that bump :flower:

We really want to do the MK attractions and Soarin'. If we get to anything else done in Epcot, it'll just be a bonus. I know it's alot for one day and we're not really gonna "commando" it, we just want to have a plan and see how far we get. Usually when MK gets too crowded for us, we hop to Epcot so we'll start off with this plan of action and see where it gets us.

Ok first thing go to SM and get a fast pass- on to Buzz and ride it. Then when you get off do SM if it is your time, if not fit in the TTA first. I hear the Stitch ride is a waste of time- but if you want to try it hit it last in Tomorrowland then walk over to Toon Town and hop the train to Splash mountain area- head over to Pirates and then grab a fast pass for Jungle cruise(if the wait is long) From there cut through the walkway that will bring you out by the Jamboree and head over to the haunted Mansion- ride. By the time you get off hopefully will be time for Jungle cruise. If not see the Tiki if it is skip Tiki. (by the way we hit Pecos Bill for quick burgers for lunch but sometimes the lines here are brutal)After Jungle cruise head to Fantasyland(this is usually our first stop but the rides you picked are not crowded) Hit Philamagic(huge theatre) then do Small world- fast moving line here. Then walk back to the monorail to take it to Epcot. Now this is where I think you will run into problems....
The big three imho are Mission Space Test Track and Soarin. I am guessing that Soarin will be extremely popular and Fast passes may disappear early in the day- same thing with Test track. Mission Space scares some people away so that should not be too bad. I guess first I would head to Test track and grab a fast pass if they are still left(in the summer they sometimes disappear by noon) Then go ride Mission Space. If you have time to kill before test track you have two choices- either Spaceship earth-if a short wait and Ellen's energy adventure if a long one(the ride itself is about 40 minutes(I think from movie to end) Then go ride Test track. After this head over to Soarin see if you can fast pass it. The problem with this is that Soarin looks like it may be a pain to get to. So I don't know how convenient it will be to grab a fast pass and head over to imagination(which I would skip by the way) Or see Honey I shrunk the Audience. But you may be better just to wait on this line for Soarin. (
Now I am not sure about hitting Soarin last..... You may want to reverse the plan for epcot and start at Soarin but then head right over to Test Track and get Fast Pass and ride Mission Space.

I am assuming you have been to Disney many times before based on your list of what you want to do(it seems to be a very specific kind of list- like no Peter Pan my favorite!!!) But on it I would skip Stitch and Tiki birds

And in Epcot I think that you should focus on the big three rides.
Have fun and good luck doing it all.

Yes, we go to Disney every year for a few days, usually 3 to 6 days. We've been on all the rides multiple times. This year we're only doing one park day in favor of trying new things(gotta keep the magic alive :wizard: ) My kids have been frequently enough that they don't want to wait on long lines for anything anymore.

We voted on which one park to do and I was surprised MK was the pick as our family's favorite park really is Epcot. I think it's because MK really is "where the magic lives" and if we were only going to do one park, they wanted the one with the magic! Since we're FL Residents and get the hopper option for free, we figured we'd just do a MK highlights visit and then try and check out some of Epcot especially Soarin'.

As far as skipping Tiki Birds, there's no way I could do that. You see, certain rides are classic Disney to me and those are: Haunted Mansion, Small World, Jungle Cruise, POTC, and Tiki Birds. I can't go to the MK without doing these or the trip just isn't complete....my family was like "oh no, not Tiki Birds and Jungle cruise again" but they humor me.

We want to see Stitch as it is new and we haven't seen it yet. Gotta check it out, even if it's crummy.

If Timekeeper and CoP are open, my DH and I will want to fit those in but we haven't found TimeKeeper open in years and years. We did manage to catch CoP last year and we very pleased...the kids even enjoyed it.

So, thanks everybody for the advice, keep it coming. We're "disney veterans" but we're always looking for new tips and tricks.

LOL about the Tiki birds! I think everyone has it is not Disney unless I ride rides. And obviously for me it is Peter Pan. My kids are always like Again?! And as for Stitch I wish I could skip it but DD(7) loves Stitch and does not care about reviews-she wants to see for herself. I applaud your goals for the day! I can't wait to hear how you do.
