Since i have no one else to brag to... I am so proud of my son

He is in forth grade- a hard transitional year in MA. with all the MCAS tests. Anyhow report cards came out today and he got straight A's and even an A+ in social studies! This is with taking him out of school for six days to go on our cruise. I have a great kid..just felt like sharing

Congrats to your ds on the great report card. I'd say with a report card like that, you might want to take him on more cruises.

BTW, my dd is in the 4th grade, too.

We sure are! Have one booked for next December pulling him out of school for another six days.. so for the folks who think you can't get good grades and be pulled out of school for vacations.. I say in my house you sure can.

Well you can't brag to friends who's children are in the same school as they may not have done as well- then I would look like I was gloating.. I am just so thrilled for him as he works really hard at his studies-I kinda blew things off as a kid (had the grades to prove that) thank goodness DH was always studious..must have got his work habits from him

I agree with you 100% on the school issue. We took our DSs out for a week when they were in 4th and 7th grades and neither suffered at all, both are honor roll students and maintainted their grades with no problems.

Congratulations to your son for having his hard work pay off! I have one kid who works really hard to get great marks and it comes naturally to the other so getting him to work is like pulling teeth. But when you know the effort he is putting into it and the results he gets demonstrate that.......you should be proud!!
