Sims 2 Help?

I have just installed my Sims 2 onto my computer. Every time I put in the Sims 2 Disk 1, it says " Please insert the correct CD-ROM, click OK and start the application again."
I have had this game installed on my computer with 2 different expansion packs. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or if I need to re-install?

Put in the expansion pack CD.

You have to put in disc one from one of the expansion packs, try both though.

OK.
I've tried both expansion pack CDs but they won't do anything.
And I've tried with both going to my computer and I clicked on Local Disk C:
And it opened up files.
GAHHHH.
My computer flippin hates me.
Now what do I do?

It sounds like it didn't load properly if the expansion pack CDs aren't working either. I hate to say this, but you might have to reinstall it.

It took a freakin half hour to load!!!!!!

I figured out the problem.
My CD drive isn't picking up ANYTHING.
