I say Gondo-la with a long o sound in the middle. Emphasis on Gon, not do. So I guess "GON-dola.

Not Gonda-la with an a sound in the middle.

My Grandparents from Iowa did too. I grew up in California and nobody I knew did. Silent in AZ for the most part as well.

We live in Iowa and I always say the t in often. I didn’t know it was a thing not to lol

It seems simple English varies across the country. I learned for instance that in Boston if a word doesn't have an R in it then you must add it, such as Sofer instead of Sofa. If a word has an R in it then you remove it such as Cah instead of Car.

Of course I'm in the minority here in how to pronounce Gone-Dole-La
