Simon - just wondered if you've stayed at the Country Inn and Suites off I Drive yet? I remember you said that you were going there this month and would value your opinion before booking.

Thanks a lot. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Lynn, yes I am just back and stayed there two nights last week. The place itself is a fairly basic - if brand new - suites hotel. That is to say, there are not a host of additional facilities outside the rooms themselves and the breakfast area. There is a smallish gym and a modest pool, and that's about it. What it does have in its favour (and this amounts to quite a lot), is the fact it is so new (and therefore still very clean), some spacious rooms (all of which have only internal access - no motel styling here) and a good free continental breakfast every day. There are free local phone calls and free daily transport to WDW (although I didn't use this myself). It is actually off I-Drive on Universal Boulevard, which means it is quieter than most in this area but still a reasonable walk from the action. Universal is 1.5 miles away and Wet 'n Wild only half a mile. It is also right next door to the Siam Orchid Thai restaurant.

In summary, there is nothing particularly special about it, but it is hard to fault - the rooms all have a safe, hair-dryer, coffee maker, iron/ironing board, fridge and microwave - especially at their introductory prices (around $79-$119 per night).

Hope this helps!

Thanks Simon, for the detailed report. :D
We're not bothered by the fact that it's off I Drive - we guess that we can walk to Wet n' Wild and get on the trolley bus as it's only 0.5 miles away.
We're not looking for luxury - (hopefully get that at AKL in the 2nd week) - just somewhere clean to sleep at night.
The fact that it's right next door to the Siam Orchid is a major plus - we love Thai food and judging by your report in your book it's a good place to eat, so we're happy.

Thanks again - I'm looking forward to going there.
