Simon and Garfunkel or Vanilla Ice

Help, My sons need costumes, last minute. One has red curly hair and the other straight. So I thought Simon and Garfunkel. But what did they wear.
But one son says he wants to be vanilla ice in the 80's. He has his hair down and the glasses, but again, I can't remember what clothes. It needs to be something I can find in a thrift shop, or around the house.

If I not mistaken I think Art Garfunkle used to wear those long vests 70's style with a striped shirt underneath? For some reason that sticks out in my head .... Unless I'm thinking of Sonny Bono

The pics are good. I have a light striped button down shirt, but need to find a vest. Also have a turtle neck sweater and a pea coat that might work for simon. And of course they have jeans. So I would just need to find a vest and a tambourine for Garfunkel and my son has a guitar to carry as Simon.
Nobody remembers what Vanilla Ice wore? I can find head shot photos but no full lenght pics that are clear. I just have to figure out a way to give my red headed son a receeding hair line.

I think Vanilla Ice wore "Hammer" type clothes. Those real baggy pants - cinched at the ankle and a silk-type dress shirt - with gold chain necklaces? I know I'm thinking of MC Hammer - but I'm pretty sure Vanilla Ice wore similar clothes.

I think most of us have tried hard to forget Vanilla Ice LOL. But, I looked him up on MTV and in his "Ice Ice Baby" video (shivers) he wore a white long puffy sleeve shirt buttoned all the way up and a black vest over it. I believe he also wore a long blue blazer with a white shirt under it buttoned all the way up. I hope that helps some.

I was thinking the exact same thing...Hammer Pants. They both were out in the early 90s so Im sure they did dress similarly.
