Simiar to recent threads - where to get hard liquor?

When we go in July, we'll have my parents and grandmother with us. My father can't be without his daily gin and tonic on vacation. I've read that some of the grocery delivery services can deliver beer and wine, but how can I get him some gin without him having to pack it in bubble wrap and plastic in his checked baggage?

most resorts have hard liquor available in the store on premise. Right where they sell milk, water etc...

I too enjoy an occational pint of scotch or beer.

You can buy it is the gift shop in most hotels, but it is expensive. We drove down in 11/06 and brought some with us from NJ.

I would think there are some liquor stores outside of Downtown Disney that sells stuff.

There is a liqour store down about 2 miles away but if you don't have a car you will need a taxi and might as well buy it at the gift shop of your resort.

Wegoshop.com delivered hard liquor for us and premium brand. You just have to list it separatly.

First I used zip lock bags- then:

I wrapped wine in tube socks, tucked into shoes, very solid in the luggage

I wrapped rum in t-shirts and wedged them safely next the wine-holding shoes.

I bought the TSA approved locks and everything was unpacked in excellent condition. If they opened the luggage to check it I could not tell.

Maryland has pretty low liquor taxes so I go into sticker shock when I buy liquor in Florida

I do not like having an 18% gratuity added to a $9. drink........

Just be careful - not through the USPS! I think you can through UPS, but if it's liquid I'd be careful. Some bottles are plastic, most aren't.

I've used USPS but not for liquids or alcohol, as they prohibit that.

Yes - I've heard if you let garden grocer know exactly what you need, they'll ad it to the list. You can always call them to make sure.
