Good morning everyone! Random question I was thinking about.

We’ve been on 4 cruises and have a Wish cruise booked for the end September.

I just booked a cruise on the magic for Labor Day weekend so after that cruise ends I’ll be gold.

With just 3 weeks inbetween sailings will we be recognized as gold when we board the wish? Or is that not enough time for their system to update? Anyone know? I imagine people run into that often

The DCL system should update as soon as you scan out of the ship after your 5th cruise ends. So, you won’t be able to do earlier booking for your Wish cruise, but you should get a Gold lanyard and Gold gift in your room after you board.

It should be right after you disembark. I think our app was updated immediately. There have been reports that if your status changes on the first leg of a back-to-back that you'd get the new lanyards, etc. on the second half. So I think you'll be all set with your three weeks!

The system will update within hours. If you were to sail back-to-back cruises with a status change, your new status would already be in the system for the second cruise, though probably not until after stateroom gifts and lanyards are handed out to hosts. I know this because it happened to my parents when they went from first timers to silver members. They didn't have a sling bag or lanyards in their room, but Guest Services was able to see their silver status and give them the appropriate gifts.

Awesome! I was wondering if it was too quick of a turnaround but seems like it’s gonna work out perfectly.

Can’t wait to finally be gold! Haha

Yes, this. Happened to me going from silver to gold.
I changed in a B2B and they were able to see at guest services (though it wasn't automatically updated). They happily turned over the gold lanyards, though.

I just switched to Gold when I got off the Wish last Monday. I think that afternoon I showed up as Gold in the system (if it wasn't the same day, it was definitely the next day). So it's pretty quick.

Thanks for asking this! I’ve been worried about the same! We get back from our 10th cruise September 18th and will be Platinum when we sail again October 31st! I was worried about this timeline - but it sounds like it won’t be an issue. Sad we’ll miss out on the perks of before sailing platinum status - but that’s okay! Just happy to finally be hitting platinum! We only have two cruises after we hit platinum - and with the new perks of Pearl … not in any hurry to reach that status!
