this fall will be our first time using silver plan ... staying AKL... how easy is it to use this plan? I'm a little over-whelmed right now and any help would be appreciated...
have made 2 ps for 10/3 LTT for MNSSHP... 5:15... good idea?
Sept. 30 7:15 HDDMR...good idea? :wave2:

we have used the silver plan the last 4 trips and LOVE it!!!!! we really love to eat out and the silver plan is the best way to do this. just be sure and tell the server that you are using the plan. a lot of times they will tell you how to maximize your order. double check your reciepts though. sometimes if it is a new person, or counter service, they will not ring it up right and they will charge it to your credit card. if it happens they can fix it there or at customer service at your (disney) resort. make sure you know which restaraunts use 2 features per meal. theres not a lot that do use two, just check the list. you can also just use one feature at a restaraunt and split the order. my wife and i have done this a couple of times when one of us wasnt very hungry at the ps time. we love to eat at sit down places and plan these meal times at good resting points in our day. instead of going back to the room and resting we just eat a great meal and relax in one of the cool restararunts. let me know if i can answer any other questions.

Have done the silver plan twice and the old deluxe(gold) plan once. There is a Pfd bourchre avaliable on the www.disney.go.com site.

It can be a little over whelming at first. We found that the plan was great for doing those extra special dinners and then splurging on some lunches. We also took advantage of one of the souvenier offers, a cyrstal mickey($80.00 approx) for two wishes ($64). :)

If you are travelling with children, be sure to use their wishes on your meals there is no distinction once you check in.

Just be sure to tell the CM that you will be paying cash for the little ones breakfast/lunch. For dinners, be sure to ask if your little ones can order off the adult menu, if they chose, before using wishes for those.

Also for the younger ones, it is a great deal to use a wish for one of the care centres at the deluxe resorts, then you can use their other daily wish to have dinner at a two wish resturant, very romantic.::yes::

If you have more questions, I would be happy to answer them.

PS:

The dinner shows are a great deal on the dinning plans, we have done them most times we have gone down.

I'm on the silver for the first time, too. If I had the time I'd do a dinner show. But it sounds like you're going at a great time to take full advantage of the plan. Just make sure to stay away from counter service with your wishes. Pay cash for those. It's a waste of a wish. And even though it shouldn't be busy try to make sure if you know you're going to a restaurant for dinner that you PS. Remember, it sucks when everyone in the park decides to have a meal at the same place at the same time and it does happen.

As far as the two wish restaurants are concerned, I've done some checking and found that for the most part they aren't worth it. There are many one wish alternatives that are supposed to be just as good. And the two wish meals are only about $5 to $10 more.

We plan on splitting meals since they include an appetizer and dessert. None of us has ever been able to finish an entree at WDW. So we figure pay for an extra side or two, split the meals and use the wishes on spa treatments and watercraft rental.

And I've checked out the brochure on Disney's site. It has the best explanation I've seen yet of everything you can do.

If you have any questions please ask me directly if you'd like. I've got a job where I have just way too much free time and have spent many hours researching my trip to get the most of the plan.

We are thinking about using the silver plan in Dec for 3A/3C. Has anyone used the wishes for watermice or fishing? Do you use 2 wishes each or 2 for the whole group fishing? is the watermice 1 per person or 1 per boat. Can each adult order a meal and share with the children, they eat like birds? Do you come out ahead with the plan? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe for the boats it is 1 wish per boat and for the fishing 2 wishes for the excursion.

The fishing excursion was a disappointment for us the way it works on the silver plan. First.. you can only go on the 1:30 fishing trip. Which in florida on the water is very, very, hot. Second..It is 2 wishes per person, We would have paid $192.00 if you figure 2 wishes x $32.00 x 3 people, we wanted to take our Military DD with us who is stationed in Tampa and meeting us for a couple of days at disney, but they wanted to charge her an additional 80.00 to get on the boat...??? I don't understand that the excursions are for up to 4 or 5 people per boat, and if you only paid a set fee for that many people, why we were being charged so much more just because we had the Silver plan. This is the only thing I found sadly disappointing.:sad1:

That is what I was afraid of on the fishing excursion. Bad news for the boys. Thanks for the info.

I have the 2004 Plan Add-on brochure for the silver plan. I got it off of another post.

The brochure says that watercraft rental are 1 wish per person and that fishing excursions are 2 wishes per person. I will see if I can find the other post and note it here for you.

We used the Silver Plan in July 2003. That was a question for us - was it 1 wish per person or per boat rental. It turned out that it was 1 wish per boat rental no matter how many people. We rented a plontoon boat at WL. There were 5 of us and it cost us 1 wish total. We also rented 2 mouse boats - 2 people per boat - total cost was 2 wishes (1 for each boat). I can't help you with the fishing excursion. I would ask at the boat rental when you arrive.
