Silver Lake Resort

Does anyone have any info on Silver Lake Resort on black lake road in Kissimmee? TIA

My sister's family stayed there last April. They loved it. Very close to Disney. Rooms were very clean, bright(lots of mirrors), loved the pool area and kids loved the game room with internet access.

I was there in May for 7 days ...got it thru SkyAuction. We were in a 2 bedroom lock out. The units themselves were good. The grounds aren't. They are in the middle of some sort of construction so when you drive to the back of the resort, it looks terrible....over grown weeds, dirt, rocks all behind the fence in the parking lot. They have a computer room ... with free internet access. The pool is a decent pool. The back gate that leads out to Disney, never works!!! You cannot just put in your room key, you must call for the guard, they look at you thru the camera, you have to show them the room key & then they open the gate. When it is raining, it is not the easiest thing to do (opening & closing your window). While we were there, we did their timeshare speel for the $70 cash... it took over 2 hours (not the 90 minutes they say), but I didn't care, it was raining & had nothing else to do Just as the rain stopped we were out of it. I would stay there again if I were to get a good deal on it. They claim they are the best rated in all of Orlando. I cannot see why other than the distance to Disney.

Don't they all make that claim? I haven't been there so I don't know too much about the resort. You might wish to look it up on www.tug2.net.

Location, Location, Location!!!!

The back road From SL into WDW puts you in the World in less than a minute. I was going to stay here this summer but changed it when the Houses at Summer Bay came up on RCI. I gave up location for space .

True, but Orange Lake also borders the Animal Kingdom. The new Fairfield Bonnet Creek has them both beat as three sides of it border WDW and the fourth side is I-4. There are many resorts with nice locations as well that don't border WDW such as Sheraton's Vistana Resort, Vacation Village at Parkway, etc. Location is important but with so many other comparable choices, I wouldn't want to hang my hat only on the location as a selling point.

Oh I agree with you totally, but what they told me at the presentation was that they had the location and that is all I think they have . I felt they didn't have half of what West Gate & Orange Lake had to offer. I am not saying SL is the best, they did... I would never buy into there, not when I can get it on SkyAuction for $233 2 bedroom 7 nights (total with SkyAuction's $195 fee. $15 dic fee & $17 insurance, making my winning bid a whopping $6!) I think there were more "renters" than owners there.
