I just booked to stay here for the first time in a 2bedroom....

How is the transportation to Disney from here? The amenities?

Also, do they have a shuttle to/from the airport? We are driving, but 2 of the people stayign with us will be flying in...

Dh and I stayed there... We liked it... If I remember correctly... you do have to put 50.00 deposit on your credit card when you check in...We were lucky and checked in at about 1 pm and we flew with our bathing suits on just in case we couldnt go to our room yet...Oh and ask for a top floor... around building 9000 to see the fireworks...

Now to get there...

When dh and I walked into the resort lobby... We were surprised... walked right up to the counter and checked in 5 minutes total... Was put into 9103 but asked for a higher room... and was given 9403 top floor.. were able to see fireworks every night the staff at Silver Lake were very friendly and nice Anyway... we had a one bedroom unit... washer and dryer the works... the grounds at Silver Lake what can I say... beatiful...the pool both pools were great... the main pool was the greatest ....no slide but very big... there is an island in the middle of it.. the pool bar had good food... 675 for chicken fingers (no fries) thats the only thing that I wasnt too happy about.. the food prices were very high.... good specials though.... the hot tub... be very careful... hot hot hot.... no place to eat on site there but plenty of places close by... Oh and by the way we took the tour and hubby bought into RCI....

I dont know if I should be happy or not...

Thanks Suzy!! I'm excited, the pictures look beautiful.. I'm just spoiled now, staying at Bonnet Creek my last 2 trips, but unfortunately, I lost that time share, and feel like nothing will compare. We are going down with my parents for their first trip, and my sister and her husband are flying out for their first trip, so I wanted it to be nice for everyone!!
Bummed there's no restaurant on site, but suppose we could use the kitchen, right? LOL....
There's a 'bar' bar around the pool, right?? LOL... Hey, my youngest will be 6weeks...I'll be ready for my margarita!!!

Well it is smaller than bonnet creek... but its nice..it is quiet..you can walk to a couple of restaurants if you want too...

We liked it... not much to do on site.. but good... there is another quite pool near building 9000 and there is another by the main building... both we nice... we did us all the pools... just to try ...

We walked to Colorado Beef ... coupon book... get and use it...the food was good.. Key W Kools is in walking distance as well... good food also...

Have a wonderful time... :cool1:

We stayed last October and was overall disappointed with the resort. The location is great, the rooms adequate.

The biggest disappointment was lack of amenities, and the time the amenities were open. I like to set poolside with a coffee and paper around 6-7:00. The little shop did not open until 8, and the pool was padlocked until 9:00. Even the exercise room was not open until 9:00. You had to make a deposit for pool towels, and one night the office closed early, keeping our deposit overnight.

We have stayed at the Fountains, Summer Bay, Sunshine Resort, and Silver Lake. This resort was the lowest ranked of the 4 for my family.

You don't buy into RCI. You buy an RCI affiliated resort.

If you JUST bought, I'd suggest you rush over to tug2.net where the advice will be to rescind your purchase immediately before time runs out. There are much cheaper ways to enjoy timesharing than buying from the developer.

We own six weeks and have enjoyed more than a decade of timeshare vacations, but we did it on the cheap.

Well..I just hope its nice and clean.... and we can swim :)

my parents will be spending more time at the resort (and half the time with 2 babies) than we will....want it to be pretty and comfortable.

What else is nearby they can go see or do?

How is the transportation to Disney from here?
It's great, because you will be using your own car. Same with the trip to/from the airport.

(Less flip answer: even if they have park shuttles, you probably don't want to use them, because they will run at inconvenient times.)

unfortunately, I lost that time share
I'm not sure what you mean by this...

As owners and before that exchangers I have never once paid a deposit for pool towels, you just sign them out at the activities center. Deposits are required for some of the equipment to be used.

We stayed here in Sept. '08 and were very pleased with the resort overall. We liked the fact that it was gated, close to disney, very quiet during our stay and CLEAN.

We were in either 300 or 400 bldg. I don't remember. It was newly updated and we used the full kitchen and washer/dryer several times. The master bed was so cozy and welcoming after a long day at the parks. Our 3 kids loved the jacuzzi tub for baths and it was nice that the master bathroom toilet had a private door within the bathroom.

We did not spend much time at the resort but did manage to use the pool
2x. You do sign out towels but no fee is charged.

Grocery store and several restaurants are nearby. We had a rental car so can't comment on their transportation.

Just wanted to ensure the info I posted was correct-just pulled the detailed receipt from our stay, we have 6 deposits of $20 for pool towels, and 6 credits for the same. The only other thing we used from the activity center was shuffleboard 1 time.

Then I guess you are an exception to the resort rule. Even when we sign out a piece of equipment and I give a deposit, I have yet to receive a detailed receipt for my deposits and credits. Did you get this at check out time? I sign up at the activity center, put my name on a piece of paper and then when I return the equipment I get my name stroked off and get back my deposit.

Towels... deposit... no... you dont pay a deposit for towels... and the pool you can go in the pool before it opens... just go in through the front...Its a nice place... you will like it....

Thanks....

I'll have to check their shuttle times, shuttles are just so much more convienient!!

Hey!

I just booked this resort for our trip August 29-Sep. 5.

I got a two bedroom that sleeps eight on skyauction. I was wondering if anyone knows if buildings 100-700, 1700, and 1800 have all been renovated yet?

These are the buildings the website says this floor plan is located in.

Does anyone have a recommendation for which of these buildings to request? Also, how far out should I try and request a specific building?

Thanks!

Bldg 100, 200, 300, 600, & 700 are all Saturday check ins. 400 & 500 are Sunday check in and 1700 & 1800 are Friday and Sunday (can't remember which one is which)

We prefer the closest building to the pool which is the 700 building. You can request a ground floor unit if you don't want to do stairs.

Thanks for the help! Has building 700 been redone? It is so hard going through all the picture, trying to figure out what is in each of the buildings because they all look so different!

No I don't think so, certain things have been replaced but not an overall refurbish. On their website when you look at the photos, #1 to #8 is pretty much what the villa in building 700 looks like. Nothing fancy, but quite comfortable. Beds and pillows are great!!!

siobhan1997,

We have a 1 bedroom/full bath booked in the Silver Points section. Would that be the 1700 & 1800 buildings? Thanks in advance.
