We have a trip planned for November 2012. We stay off site through AFVC because they offer such a great deal. Anyways we stayed at Silver Lake 3 years ago and loved it.

I was hoping someone could give me a current review of Silver Lake... what building you stayed in... decor... all that cool stuff.

Also has anyone stayed at Summer Bay Resort? The pictures look great but I would like some first hand reviews.

Our last two stays have been at Silver Lake and Summer Bay. In 2010 we stayed at Silver Lake and very much enjoyed it. The location cannot be beat. It is as close as you can get to being on Disney property without actually being there. At night we could see fireworks from EPCOT from our porch. It was also neat seeing Expedition Everest at night.

Last September we stayed at Summer Bay and had a great stay at well. We were looking into returning to SL but found a great deal on one of the houses at Summer Bay. This is a 3-bedroom house, with 2 of the bedrooms being master-suites with king-size beds and both a huge tub and walk-in shower. The third bedroom had twin beds and its own bath as well. The houses at SB also have their own swimming pool.

SB is probably larger than SL and seems to have a little more to offer in the community area. The downside is that you are much farther from WDW than you are at SL. It is a good 10-minute drive from SB to SL. And that is in September when the crowds were low.

My family was talking about our trips to WDW the other day and I asked everyone where their favorite place to stay was. Both SB and SL were at the top of everyone's list, but I think SB won out. That is from 3 teenagers.

Let me know if you have more questions about SB.

There will only be 3 of us going.... my husband myself and our 2 year old son. We used armed forces vacation club and get the same price at each resort for a 2 bedroom.

How are the rooms at SB? Do you think SB's ammenties would be good with a toddler? How are the pools?

The only rooms we saw were in the house itself. But the other resort guests we spoke to enjoyed their rooms. One of the areas, and I don't remember which one, had a very nice children's water play area. It had a playground with water spouts, etc. With a toddler that is where I would want to stay. There are at least two other pools at SB that are nice as well.

Before moving to the area we stayed at both Summer Bay and Silver Lake resorts.

Silver Lake is closer to Disney ~ right down the side road a couple of miles from the Animal Kingdom.

Summer Bay is definitely the best ~ we loved our condo there. It was beautiful, quiet and perfect.

Either one would be nice though ~ I just recommend Summer Bay the most ;)

Have fun!
