I'm invited to a party and don't want to spend much money - what's the least amount I could get away with?

In my experience, Silpada is very expensive. I can't remember well, it's been a few years, but I went to 2 parties over the years and won't go to any more. Not much under $30, most seemed over $50.

they always say you can come to the party without buying anything but I would feel too guilty! Then I hate feeling obligated to buy something that I don't want or need!

It's gonna cost you more then a pair of Mickey ears!!!!
Just kidding! It's not cheap though-probably 40 bucks!!

The least is probably $30-40. If you can't do that, you might want to think about gracefully bowing out. :lmao:

..just a little OT rant...

I HATE :headache: demonstration "parties." It is not a party it is a way of guilting me into buying something I don't need so someone else can make money! If you want to socialize with me, fine, invite me over or out, but, please, don't use our friendship to make a profit. I always decline.

I have a friend that sales it! I bought a beautiful silver bead bracelet for around $45 that I get compliments on everytime I wear it! It is great quality and timeless designs! I would not hesitate to buy another piece! Though a piece at a time is all I can do!:rotfl: It really is nice jewelry!

It's very nice, don't go if your on a budget:scared1: I have quite a few pieces but it's not cheap.;)

You won't find much under $40-$50, however the stuff is beautiful. A friend of mine had a party recently and I ended up spending more than I really wanted, but love the 2 pieces I bought. I'm not a fan of demonstration parties either and usually buy a small item because I feel obligated, but the party was being held to raise money for a 3 day ride for leukemia and lymphomia. I figured it was ok to splurge if the money was going to a good cause ;) And I ended up being very happy with the jewelry.

I have flat out told people. "Sorry, i dont need any jewelry. However, i like pampered chef and if you had one of those parties let me know because its something i can use IF i decided to buy something."

My guess is you will spend at least $30 if you go.

I have a pair of $50 earrings I wear constantly. I felt herded into buying something too, however, it turned out to be a great investment. If you are going to buy something, make sure it's something you can wear often.

So true! I have two pair of silver dangle ones that are my "go to" earrings, dressed up or casual, they are right on the money.

As previous posters have mentioned, the least you could buy would be one pair of earrings for $30-40. The first party I attended I ended up spending around $500 and didn’t really get much stuff. Now I only buy it on ebay which is still expensive but a little more reasonable. What I don’t like about the parties (and most parties like this) is that the hostess gets a big cut (something like 30% of sales I think) and so does the Silpada rep, so THAT is a big part of why the prices are so high. Why should I be spending that much extra money so that my friend/hostess can get a bunch of free jewelry?
