Question...does the amount of room under the seats vary depending on where you sit? I'm not referring to "special" rows, like the exit or bulkhead seats. I ask because on our last trip, I used this bag ( http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/...-convertible-junior/241465?productid=10209116 ) as my carryon with my purse as my personal (under the seat) item. I found out that this bag actually fit quite well under the seat without any squishing involved.

Each of us has one of these bags and we plan to use them as our primary luggage. If they will fit under any seat, then we may bring one of our rolling carry-ons if we need a little extra space. We are flying into Tampa so no DME and we'd like to skip a checked bag if at all possible. We're also renting a mid-size car so we don't want to bring too much luggage.

Thanks!

Yes if this one will fit under the seat which it looks like you will have no problem with, then you can also take a carry on.

In many planes, which I *think* includes the 737s that SW uses, the aisle seats have a smaller (narrower) space under the seat in front of them, because the seat posts for the row are not spaced symmetrically. The space under the middle and window seats is slightly larger.
My laptop bag will fit under middle and window seats, but not the aisle seats.
