Silly Questions about Parade

I noticed at the parade at Epcot that these fairy looking people had a bag and collected something from kids. I think it was dreams written on a piece of paper. Is this correct? Do they still do this? Where do the kids write these things down, i.e., on any paper or is there a special stand somewhere for this?

I have been curious about this for a while.

There is no parade at Epcot any longer.

Sounds like you're referring to the Tapestry Of Dreams parade. There used to be stations throughout Epcot where children could create these "dreams" for collection during the parade.

Unfortunately TOD ended on 3/1/03, and has not been replaced.

What they were putting in the nets were small cardboard coin type things that were wishes....it was great! I will miss the Tapestry Parade this next trip! Doing the less than 5 day dance!

How sad - I really loved the Tapestry of Dreams - it was the one parade that was as much for adults as the kids - Hope they bring it back!

Thanks for all the replies! I hope they bring it back, too! I thought it was unique in comparison to the other parades at WDW.

I doubt it will be returning. TOD had been running in largely the same format since it was originally introduced as Tapestry Of Nations. I believe that started around 1999. Toward the end, word was that many of the costumes had greatly deteriorated and were in need of repair. But ultimately the powers-that-be decided the show had run its course and it officially ended on March 1, 2003.

At that time, rumor was that Disney had hired a renowned choreographer to create a new parade for Epcot which would debut in the Fall '03. That obviously hasn't happened, and there is currently little reason to believe any replacement will be immediately forthcoming.

Nations/Dreams was such a moving parade, the best I think. I really miss it.
