Has anyone ever "rented" a character for an hour or so? Do they even do that? I am looking to book a cruise on the Grand One and I was thinking that maybe I could "rent" Mickey for an hour or so.

i don't know if they would let people do this outside of a wedding, but we rented minnie and mickey for our wdw wedding. for the weddings, they only rent for a 1/2 hour and they were $$$$. we did get to pick what they would wear (out of their many costumes), which was pretty cool. :)

At a wedding of my relatives, I was told Mickey, Minnie, and (I think) Donald and Daisy were there. Now, I didn't go, but I was told they were there but they weren't the "real" ones, but were close enough. So, I guess if you do some searching, you could find something good. Good luck! :D

If I can remember correctly the cost STARTS somewhere around $750/half hour. That half hour starts from the time they leave casting and ends when they return. Also, in the process of getting from point A to point B they must stop to greet guests along the way - on your dime! They cannot not be dismissive of other guests. We had considered doing this last year as a surprise for my inlaws during a reunion trip we organized, but after looking into it we decided not to bother.

Thanks everyone... I actually called Disney and they connected me the "character rental office"... who knew they had such a thing :p . I left a message and I am waiting for a response but I have a feeling it's a little (okay, a lot) out of our price range!!!
