Yes the resort gift shops sell detergent. I think it's Tide. IIRC you can also buy them from those little dispenser/vending type machines in the laundry but I could be wrong. I always just pack my own by decanting some fabric conditioner into a smaller bottle and I take detergent tablets - both of which travel fine in the hold luggage.
yes they do sell the detergent in the laundry room as well but you need the correct money. There are also money changing machines in the laundry rooms. We also just take our own. They have top loaders and front loaders like we are used to in the laundry room. (well at least they do in POR/FQ)
Like others have said they have some in the vending machines in the laundry room. Also, not sure if AoA is the same but when we went POFQ had just changed to only accepting card payment in the laundry rooms

Is that for the use of the machines or just to get change out of the machine? That would be well handy if its to use the machines as its a complete pain having to have all that change! We went last September to POR and still had to put coins in the machine.
As far as I know at the moment its only POFQ that has the card operated machines for washers, dryers and products. It was a box of powder and I found it was enough for 2 washes.
We were there in May not long after it had changed to card use so a few people didn't realise and didn't have a card to use but everyone was happy to help out each other. I did a wash and dry the night before we came home which made for much easier packing and straight out of the cases into the wardrobe when we unpacked.

As we get a delivery of bits from Garden grocer I add Tide and bounce to the order. As someone has said before I also stick the tumble dryer sheets in the suitcases as it makes them smell better (I also put one in the empty case when we get home to keep it smelling fresh) I think the Bounce sheets smell better in the USA, that might be just me. We do a laundry day when were having a pool rest day, means we pack less so more room to bring stuff home!
It's my pool and laundry day today! Got two loads washed and dried while in the pool. Heading to shops I think in a bit and dinner at Rose and Crown tonight.
And I added tide and bounce to my garden grocer delivery.
