When I put the new shirts in the wash(before doing transfers), do I put laundry soap in as well, or just the water? Does it matter what temperature? Should I let them air dry or put them in the dryer? I've done shirts before but they always come out a little creasy and don't last very long in the wash afterwards? What am I doing wrong? Is it possible my iron isn't hot enough? Thanks for any advise!!

You want to wash the shirts with laundry detergent and dry as normal (making sure not to use fabric softner or dryer sheets). It is important that you use the detergent to remove any and all sizing from the shirt before applying iron on.

As far as the creasing afterwards, I think that is more dependent on the transfers you are using than the care you do. The only thing special I do to mine is try to remember to turn them inside out before washing. But other than that, I wash and dry as I would my regular laundry. It really depends on the transfer and how well they wash. I have used some that ruined after the very first wash and others that have lasted over a year.

If you haven't already purchased your transfers, check out my webpage (link below) for the best transfers on the market.

If you have already bought your transfers, I would suggest that you not wash them again until after your trip - just in case - so they will look fabulous for your trip.

Thank you so much!!! I've just made such nice shirts in the past only to not have them last very long! No, I haven't boughten them yet so now I can be sure to get the right ones.!! Thanks again!

I just want to add, now that I see there are many detergents with added stuff...please be sure your detergent is just detergent...I have a feeling that is why some of these shirts other dissers are making are having trouble..I just had that as I was shopping and saw all the "new" detergents...good luck..
