Silly Question...

It is a soft serve pinapple juice.

I have heard that you can also have it swirled with vanilla icecream or chocolate.

They also have a pineapple dole whip float-pineapple juice and then the soft serve pineapple on top.

Its a soft serve ice cream that is pineapple flavored. Think Dairy Queen, but pineapple instead of chocolate or vanilla.

Is it different from DL?

I was told that it does not contain ice cream! My niece is lactose intollerant and we had one at DL.

I hope it is just pineapple juice. She is looking forward to one!

Here's the list of ingredients from Wikipedia.

According to precisionfoods.com[2], the following is the actual ingredient list. The list is kept behind the counter at the snack stand and is available upon request.

Sugar, Dextrose, Pineapple Crystals, Partially hydrogenated soybean oil, Stabilizers (Cellulose, Locust Bean, Guar, Xanthan, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Sodium Silico Aluminate, Vegetable Fiber, Citric Acid, Artificial Flavor, Sodium Caseinate (a milk derivative), Mono & Diglycerides, Sodium Citrate, Salt, Dipotassium Phosphate, Artificial Color Including F.D. & C. Yellow #6.

Its not just pineapple juice.

I guess I will have to double check. I know that last year when we went to DL I was told it was safe for people with milk allergies/lactose intollerance.

What are Dole Whips? The most overrated, artificial-tasting treat in WDW!

According to the Precision Foods website:

http://www.precisionfoods.com/foodservice/bnd_products_details.cfm?skuid=10922&id=103

acceptable nutritional claims are: "Low Free" ( I assume they mean "Low Calorie"), Cholesterol Free, Lactose Free, Gluten Free

So it's lactose free, even though it contains Sodium Caseinate, which is a milk derivative. I guess it depends on how allergic to milk someone is -- might want to ask a doctor :confused3
