Silly question: What does "bump" mean?

Sometimes in a thread will be a message and all it has is the word "bump". What does this mean?

It's basically a "nothing" post to knock the thread back to the top of the forum where it will get more attention.

I just asked the same question last week! It was driving me crazy to see a thread that just said "bump".

Now, anytime there is a topic you think needs to stay current, just post a reply that says bump and it will bring it to the top of the forum page as a new reply.
