Silly Question Regarding Christmas Stockings

On our first trip to WDW DH and I purchased Christmas stockings for the two of us. DD7 already had one that was Minnie. So, we got these very pretty green and red velvet stockings with Mickey and Minnie carolers on them. We had them embroidered with our names. Well, a few years later we have DD3, and we need a stocking for her. Well, that year in the Disney catalog they have Christmas stockings that are the same colors. They have the character decorating the trees on them. The color scheme is opposite of ours. They look very nice together. EXCEPT for one thing - the toes on the kids point the opposite direction.

We will soon have a fire place to hang these from, and I told DH I want them going the same direction. Would this be important to you or am I being silly?

Not silly at all. I want all mine hanging the same direction too. I am not sure I have seen ones where the toes point to the left. Hope you find something.

I'd just point the toes toward the outside.

Put the two that are the same on each side. That would look fine, I think.

Yes, I would want them pointing in the same direction as well, ours all point to the right. You could arrange them so that 2 on the left, point to the right & the 2 on the right, point to the left (I think) anyway, they would all be pointing to the center of the fireplace >><< make sense???

Yep, I'm quite anal, so that would bug me & I'd be ordering new stockings

At my parent's house there are 8 stockings this year, they point both ways. I put the stockings up this year, I put all the ones pointing to the right on the left side and all the ones pointing to the left on the right side. I think they look fine.

All of us have the exact same stocking with our names being different. It is bugging me that they dont sell that stocking anymore so my baby doesnt match. But I am hunting ebay for it!! LOL!

So yes that woud bug me that they dont go the same direction.

Oh yes, that would totally bug me, and I would order new stockings. I actually ordered all new stockings for us this year because ours didn't match. My MIL bought all of ours over the years from Lands End. First dh's and mine, then a couple years later ds#1, 2 years later ds#2. So even though they all came from the same company, they were different sizes and different fonts for the names. So this year we needed one for ds#3 and I decided that I wanted ALL 5 of ours to match, so I just told her that I was buying new ones for all of us. I got them from LLBean and they all match and I'm a happy camper now.

We have three that match and Dd has the odd one. She was born 7 years after DS so the woman that handmade our stockings was no longer alive. My Mom made DD her stocking and it is the biggest one
We love it just the same and it points the other direction.
We have used them like that for 18 years so guess we won't change now

Wow - I didn't even realize they made them that pointed to the left! Is that for left-footed people?

It would drive me nuts, too. I even have to have all my coat hangers facing the same way!

my family's have always pointed to the left. i think pointing to the right just looks wierd.
