silly question.....but im curious

before the entrance to the park.....in front of disneyland hotel where there is the grass mickey face(fantasia gardens, am i right?)......there are tiles on the floor with names and dates engraved on them?
what are these?

At one time you could buy a paving stone and have your name engraved on it. Unfortunately they dont do it any more as a lot of people on here have mentioned they would love to have one

We did it at Epcot 3 years ago, and included a little hologram pic of us. I would love to have done it at DLRP too.

Every time I go to DLRP I enquire at City Hall about this being re-opened. Every time I'm told that they regret there are no plans for this. Grrrrr

We did this just before it was withdrawn only we chose to have our name as they were only allowing two people per photo. We just missed out on an engraved stone at MK, they were re-selling some of the stones but demand overtook supplies and they withdrew it again and cancelled our order but I wasn't too upset. I'd rather have a stone at DLRP as I'd probably be able to visit it more often.

I'm sure I heard that they get replaced after 10 years, not sure how true that is.

We got our when we honeymooned there in 2003 - has our wedding date on it and we always take a photo every time we go! We also have one in WDS (2 for 1 special) but we never managed to find it!

My hubby bought one of the disney stones for a surprise for our wedding anniversary eight years ago .... on the day he presented me with a certificate showing our stone and we had the pleasure then of looking for it when we next went to Disney ... it is quite exciting to see your names in stone.

My hubby thought it was only for ten years as well ... i think that is such a shame as can you imagine in 50 years time people would be looking at the stones with dates going back to 2001 etc!!!!!
