Silly Mickey Question

Please settle this argument: Does Mickey Mouse (the costumed character itself, not the cartoon) have a tail? I have seen him zillions of times of course, and I'm pretty sure he does, but my mother-in-law and sister-in-law insist that he doesn't.

I'm sure y'all will know...

yes, he has a tail, but he keeps it in his pants.

Maybe it's under the clothes? Like, if you saw him in a classic Mickey outfit (bottoms and no top, etc) he'd definitely have it, but he wouldn't want to cut a hole in a tuxedo?

Mickey does not have a tail and he can be silly sometimes. :)

Yes, he does- However you will see pics w/ & w/o from nostalgia Mickey to present Mickey so it could depend upon the outfit, the pose, the illustrator...
Mickey definitely has a tail! ::yes::

maybe this will help

that shows he has tails as in the jacket, but not that his tail is tucked inside his pants. although, he does look kinda j-loish there.

so again, yes, he has a tail, no you may not see it. it's completely inappropriate to ask as well.

Ok, ok... I'll change my question slightly, but still perhaps intriguing...

Does Mickey ever appear in this classic attire:

If so, where? When? If he does, getting a picture with him in those clothes will be my next WDW goal!

i'm pretty sure being topless isn't permitted in the parks, so no.

even when he appears as steamboat willie in disneyland, he wears a long sleeved black shirt

It's interesting to see that they made a Steamboat Willie costume for Mickey. I wonder why they wouldn't go all the way and make his face accurate as well. I have a general issue whenever there are blatant inconsisties and impossibilities in cartoon-character storytelling and design.

For example, I never liked Fantasmic because I don't know when Mickey would ever have had the chance to interact with all those villains. I dislike when Princesses, who are so geographically and temporally varied, are pictured together or otherwise interacting. Of course it's ok in parades -- they're all on different floats -- and the character meals tend to include characters who historically know each other (however, in Disneyland, we had Alice and Captain Hook at the same meal).

It's not limited to Disney. There is no way Sally Brown and Linus Van Pelt should ever be in the same class since they're about 5 years apart. And Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty also should not be in the same class since they live clear across town from one another (except for the time Charlie Brown's school building was depressed and reduced itself to rubble, and they were forced to go to another school).

Clearly, I have issues. Believe it or not, I do have a wonderful time in the parks with all the characters, and I manage to let all these things go (with the exception of Fantasmic). I'll stop now. :mic:

It's all good, the character interaction is OK since they're all "Walt's Children!" :goodvibes
