I was just wondering if someone could tell me how to say "you're Welcome" in sign language.

We have been using signs with ds (5-autism) for about 3 years (simple stuff) and it never occured to me until today(after a kid at the ballpark asked me) that we have him say "thank you" but We don't ever say "you're welcome" HOW rude are we.

Sorry -Random I know but I could not find it in the sign language stuff I have.

YES, in ASL.

closed hand in your "box" of space then put your hand out straight and "pull" down to a few inches below your belly button

my firend who signs english uses a W pulling out from her chin

THis is a great site that you pick the words and the lady signs it for you. I use it to help me teach my toddler words since he is not talking very much. He's 16 months. He signs more, drink, please......

First is the sign for welcome as in welcome to my world

Second is signed English for sure.

Deaf just use thank you which is "B" at chin moved out to neutral space at about the same level.

That's what my DD uses (although because she modifies the signs to make them easier for her fine motor abilities, her "thank you" and "you're welcome" look very much the same).

The other welcome that was posted is the "welcome" for when you greet someone - like you would use for "Welcome. Glad to see you."
We don't use a lot of signs because DD's fine motor skills make them look very similar, but we know the "courtesy" ones.

I wanted to add my thanks for that web link as well. I'm in contact with 2 nonverbal students this year, and we have family members that sign too. I want to learn a few and surprise them!

Thank you and you're welcome ARE the same. My sign language instructor explained it was like "thank you for saying thank you" )
