Silly booking question

I'm new to the cruising board and dreaming about our first Disney Cruise. I'm guessing it won't happen until April 2006 (whenever spring break is for the kids). I know that dates are not available for this time yet (end of summer from what I've heard?) but I was wondering if there is anything you can do to book before dates come out? Is that possible? or do I just have to sit and wait (and dream!).

I've heard you can fax "Inventory Control" but I tried that & it didn't work. You can be in contact with a good TA who will watch for dates to open up or you could watch these boards. I think that would be the best. When new months/seasons open up, the info is right here ASAP.

Thank you. I'm addicted to these boards so I will definitely be checking back here frequently!

Does anyone know how quickly the "secret porthole" rooms go? Are they usually snatched up the first day that the dates are announced? Also I will probably be "guessing" at which dates the kids will have spring break. If I book and then find out I have the wrong dates is it a problem to switch my booking to other dates?

You could probably check your county's school website. I know ours has the calendar posted about 2 years in advance.

As far as knowing when DCL opens up the dates, you just keep on checking the website. And, reading here!
