Silly Bandz

My DD13 loves them:lovestruc She likes to trade them with her friends at school. We found them on Ebay. They weren't expensive and the shipping was free:cool1:

Yes and not just my tween, the entire school from K to 6th is crazy about them. I see HS students with them on and the nurse and the pediatrician were wearing them too.

Silly Bandz are definitely the rage in DS's school! His teacher has actually banned them from class for being distracting, but the kids trade them at recess and on the bus.

Around here, they first appeared at the party supply stores, but I found some when we were in Florida right at a Walgreens. I also just yesterday discovered that a toy store in a nearby town has them - not a big chain, just a small local place. Sometimes you'll see a decal in the window saying they have them.

I bet they trade them with the kids (like the CMs trade pins at Disney) to break the ice with shy patients.

I think so too, or the kids just give them to them. I know my kids give them to their teacher, my ds gave a heart one to his sub last week :lovestruc
the kids aren't allowed to have them off their wrists in class, the teachers will take them so they are only allowed to trade at recess or on the bus. I imagine this fad is driving all teachers crazy

Luckily I have three older boys, no issues with them being crazy about these. I had to go into the fabric store yesterday, Hancock Fabrics. They had a sign on the door saying they have these. I don't know if JoAnn's would have them, might be worth calling to ask.

They were a major fad here but seem to be fading now thank goodness! My daughter ended up with about 200 of them. They were trading them at recess, their sports games, dance classes---anyplace they had a minute and a group of kids LOL.

DD says they are finally catching on here - but she is not interested in them.

I just saw them - and a knock off brand - at A C Moore crafts.

my worry of that as they become popular - there will be increased problems with pets and younger siblings!!!! Hope I am wrong!

...my youngest DS is a sophomore and he and some of his friends have them too...

No and if it was a fad I would not know. My kids loathe "fads", which can be disappointing to a mom who enjoys them, which is probably why they don't like them. Reverse psychology, right? ;)

Although my 13yodd just got a "scene type" haircut. So there is hope that she will conform to society.

The current "look" of today called "Scene".

Although her hair is just cut that way, she doesn't have any dye in her hair and she does not spend time getting ready for school like you are supposed to.

...still not getting it - the hair is dyed to look like a 'scene'??? :confused3
[...I GOTTA go Google it...]
