Is anybody else's kid gone crazy over these shaped rubber bands?! My only question is: Why didn't I think of that?! I guess it's the same deal as the jelly bands we wore in the 80's... only we were WAAAYYY cooler. :cool2:

Anyway... wondering if anyone has seen these in Disney shapes at the Parks?

I have no idea what these are. Would you post a picture please?

My daughters and their friends are nuts over them! Never thought that we might see them in WDW. omg - How cute would a Mickey head shaped one be!!!! Knowing Disney, if the haven't caught onto this yet they will soon....

to heck with the kids! i want them! lol dd would go crazy over the princess ones. she always has her hair elastics on her wrist when she gets home. disney ones would be great...give it time, disney will milk that money cow!

and yes we were all that with our 25cent jelly braclets!!! we werent permitted to wear them in class tho. my "friend" stole all mine out of my backpack, then wore them to school the next day saying her gpa bought them all for her that nite. i was so sad :sad1: no judging- i was only 7! lol it was a huge thing for my teacher to try to decipher who they belonged to. ahhh the dramas of a 7 year old! lol

OMG, I was just asking DH about this the other day!!!. We're going down in May and I thought it would be great if they had Disney packs to buy and trade.

Isn't it weird when something like jelly bands can spread like a national wildfire? :rotfl: Several months ago my friends were talking about how many their kids had, and I didn't even have a clue as to what they were. Well, they passed one along to my DD3 and when DS6 saw it later in they day, he was like "hey, that's a silly band!". I didn't even know that he knew what they were (I hadn't heard him mention anything about them). Then he proceeds to tell me about the kids at school that have them and trade them. Well, I felt like the biggest *idiot* and not wanting my son to be the "odd ball out" I went out and bought a pack (which were hard to find and kind of expensive IMO).

And, before anyone gets the wrong idea, the biggest draw for me is not DS being with the "IN" crowd, but giving him the tools to help him socialize...there's alot of interaction with "new" kids when they are looking around for new bands to trade for...it's a plus for me and DS (who sometimes has a hard time with his ADHD/Anxiety issues) :goodvibes

I bought some disney bands from crackbands.com lol. I have to say they are fragile and kinda small for the wrist.

Yes, just saw them on an end cap at Target the other day. A lot of Hallmark stores also carry the Disney ones. I don't think they are as hard to find as they were when they first appeared. I wonder if they will still be such a big deal when school starts again as they were in the Spring!

I was wondering about the Disney ones too. My kids went to the dentist last week and my DD came out with 2 silly bandz in the shape of a glass slipper and a ring. They were very cute!

Oh, my goodness! They can't even keep them in the stores here! Here's a link...

I have no idea why they are so popular. :confused3 Kids (boys and girls) wear 50 at a time and the kids trade them at school. I just wondered if there were Disney themed ones at the Parks.

Yes. They have them out here at DL. I've seen them but I never got the point. I didn't know kids were wearing them until yesterday. My mom said that some kid was wearing them at her ortho office. And the Dr was bugging the kid about what they were and where to get them because he knew his kids were gonna come home and "need" some. :lmao:

I guess I just never saw the point because once you're wearing or using it...who the heck can tell what it is??

...That being said, I think I need a pack of the Xmas ones. :lmao:

We just got back on the second. The fab four ones were completely gone. They said the warehouse had NONE at all and that within an hour of getting them they were selling out of them. They had plenty of princesses, Cars and Toy Story.

we were there last week, and saw princess, tink and faires, cars, toy story, mickey and friends, and I thought one more but can't seem to think of what it was. Our resort store had a lot of all of them and also saw them in the parks.

They have the disney ones at A.C. Moore. My DD bought the disney fairies. They also had disney princess and Mickey and pals. This is the only place I have found the disney ones though.

I got my nieces the fairies, princess and toy story ones over a month ago online. They were super excited and 2 of them were going to WDW 2 weeks later. My sister thanked me so many times since they got back because she said if they would not of had them they would have begged from them because they saw a ton of kids with them.

norfolk public school systems have banned them from the class rooms already!!

cant say im upset about it.

my son has a few. i tried to convience him that they are for girls only :lmao:

I've seen Disney ones (Mickey and Pals, Princesses, Toy Story, Cars, and Marvel) at Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens and CVS in my area, usually about $5 for a pack of 20 (4-5 styles, different colors of each in a box) while the generics can be as little as $1 (fantasy which has princess crowns, etc.). I've found them in toys and in the jewelery departments, and special end cap displays... They're very popular with the kids I work with, the more the better, awesome prizes, and they do trade like crazy but I haven't had any problems that I've heard about in the schools- older kids unevenly trading younger kids out of their special ones, fights over them, etc.
