We are trying to save money in every way we can and my mother suggested we do silk flowers instead of real ones. I am ok with doing silk flowers for the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and decorations, but I am a little iffy on having silk flowers for my bouquet and DF's boutainere (I know I totally butchered that). Anyone do silk flowers for the wedding? How did it turn out?

And what colors/flowers go with wine? I am thinking about having wine as the color of the bridesmaid dresses.

you coulld do a cream or gold flower, also, depending on the shade you could do a really dark red rose...

I did all silks as I wanted to keep my bouquet and didn't want to pay 500-1000 to have it preserved. It wasn't quite what I had invisioned as I wanted more color, less cream, but with regards to the flowers, everyone said it was beautiful and couldn't believe they weren't real. I still get oohs and aahs from the photos. I can send you some close ups if you'd like, just pm me.

Mine was silk. I got the really nice expensive flowers at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. People though they were real. And now I can keep my flowers forever. You just have to look for the nice ones on sale. My open roses were $5 each and I got them for $2.50 each. I had other flowers mixed in, even some cheap .50 cent ones. I spent about $150 on the 3 boquets and flowers for the guys and parents.
My new SIL did the arranging, she did an awesome job.
