My ds (3) is allergic to milk and soy. He only drinks almond milk and only the Silk brand. I went to place my garden grocer order for our upcoming trip and it appears they only carry the Almond Breeze milk  I haven't called anyone yet at our resort or emailed special diets but am planning to. Just curious if anyone here knows if they carry it in the parks or at any of the restaurants? We are also kind of in a bind cause my ds drinks the dark chocolate and the original mixed together. So, I'm hoping to find both. Thanks!

I've never seen the silk almond milk at the parks, chefs may possibly have it. The milk in the store fridges is soy milk. Can you request that garden grocer go to whole foods? They definitely have all types of alternative milk choices. Next time I am in publix I will check what almond milks they have.

We won't have a car. Will Garden grocers go to different stores? We live in CO and here, Silk almond milk is in all the stores including Super Walmart and Super Target. Will the resort stores special order anything?

From what other posters have said recently, I agree that it's unlikely that they'll have Silk Almond milks at the parks. I believe the current soy milk they have is Kikkoman and that for people who can't have soy as well, they usually stock or already have Rice Dream. It is worth contacting Special Diets to ask, but I wouldn't have high hopes.

That said according to a recent thread Whole Foods now delivers to WDW resorts. You may want to look into that rather than ordering from Garden Grocer as I would expect them to have the Silk Almond Milk ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2890646&highlight=whole+foods+delivery ).

I have never seen Almond Silk at WDW, just soy milk.

I agree with WheeledTraveler that Whole Foods would likely carry almond milk, but not sure of the brand. Calling them would let you know right away though. Here is their contact information.

Looking at Garden Grocer's website, they carry Almond Breeze Almond milk.

We have not used them, but a lot of people use WeGoShop - they will shop at the store of your choice, but it is up to you to determine which store has what you need.
A search of Target's website brought up Almond Breeze and a search of Walmart brought up Almond Breeze, Almond Dream and Silk, so the brand may depend on the exact store.

I saw that thread but didn't see anything about it on Whole Food's website. I'll dig a bit deeper. Thanks!

Does Silk Almond Milk need to be refrigerated? If not, pack some cartons or individual packs in a couple ziplock bags in your suitcase :thumbsup2

We buy it refrigerated so I'm thinking it needs to be kept cold. Thanks for the thought though!

My son can't have soy or dairy either. He drinks coconut milk (So Delicious brand) or almond milk. Both coconut and almond milk come in carton boxes, I always bring an extra suitcase that I fill with his special foods and drinks that don't need to be refrigerated. The carton milks only have to be refrigerated after opening. I get new boxes to put in the suitcase and after we arrive I put them in our hotel fridge.

You can buy the individual ones and they are shelf stable. At least, they sell them on the regular shelves at my grocery store. They come in packs of 4. I drink the Dark Chocolate as a preworkout drink! Love the stuff!

Ok, thanks!! SO, the ones that are sold on the shelf and not refrigerated taste the same?? This is big cause my 3yo knows his "milk" :rotfl: Do they sell the dark chocolate in the mini ones too? Cause this could definitely be my answer if they are the same.

They taste the same to me. They had Dark Chocolate and Vanilla in the individual ones. In my store they were with the other shelf stable "milk" products if that helps any.

Helps a lot!! Thank you! I will look for these :woohoo:

My son is on the spectrum and is very sensitive and picky about his food. He thinks it tastes the same as the refrigerated ones. I actually like the chocolate milk ones, they're very good. The almond ones do come in small individual containers with a straw like the regular juice boxes. I get ours at our local supermarket but also at health food stores.

I get the small cartons of Silk Almond milk at Publix and there is one nearby at 192 and 535. They also have So Delicious in cartons but not the small ones. We use that to make our curries at home.

I found the cartons (1 quart, I think) but no small, non-fridgerated) Silk almond milks. I saw some small Silk ones but they were all soy milk. I think the quarts will be fine though as we can pack one in each suitcase and should have enough. I bought some to try now and make sure he likes them. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it!

My ds has a lot of spectrum traits also but no diagnosis as of yet. So, it's good to know that another picky kiddo thinks they taste the same. I'll have to look again for the individual sized ones. That would be super helpful for carrying into the parks.
