I really love these. I had all of my girls done last time we were at Disney. I think the woman who did them is such an amazing talent.
I have a niece who I usually bring things back for and I was wondering if anybody knows if a silhouette can be done from a photograph? I think it would make such a special little gift for her mom/my sis.
Anybody done this?

It CAN!!!! When we had the girls silhouettes done (now proudly framed with the Disney silhouette pin series, yes both of them) we saw ones done of Lady & Tramp with a piece of spaghetti in between, they were each in individual frames. We said how cute it would be to do that with our dogs and the lady said "bring me a picture and I can do it for you"! Now, we have forgotten to do it but I have NO doubt she can do it. She is so good, and fast. Just mind boggling!!

Dh is counting the days until we can do this with DD. I don't know why we've never sone it before. But this trip is the one! It's a great deal, too!

Love the silhouette's! I had them done when I was 17 with my best friend. Yesterday I took my DD (11). You get two copies for $7.00 per person in the picture. I also bought the frame ($9.00). One copy for the scrapbook and one for her bedroom. Artist was realy nice and did a great job. She said they are not allowed to accept the tip I offered but thank you for the compliment.

Just back (6/30) from a great mother daughter trip. Any questions just ask... we were there 5 whole days!

I had one done of my DS who was 23 months at the time and he was sound asleep in the stroller... Came out really cute..

I had one done of each of the big kids a couple of years ago. This was my youngest's first trip, at 21 months, and he did awesome. I now have an individual silhoutte of each of them. Then I went ahead and had one done of all of them together. That turned out great too! They always do an excellent job there!

I would take two photos- one of her profile and one from the front. It should give them everything they need to make one.

I have tried to do this every other year at DL. My DD is 19 and I probably have 8-10 of her, my DS is 17 and may have 5-7 of him (he doesn't like going anymore, it's a BOY thing) and my other DD is 12 (she'll be 13 this Friday so I can still say 12; then she's not a bratty teenager yet) and I probably have at least 5 of her. We went for the 50th and they were done in gold with a black background; SO COOL!!!

Wow ~ great info! Can't WAIT to do this! Such a fantastic alternative souvenir!

Just FYI: when we where there a month ago, she was not there until after noon (it either said 12 or 1). I did this for the first time and really wish I had known about it when we first went in 2001...oh well now I know :).

My parents have ones of me and my sister fromt he early 70s when we were very young. If you look at them now it is obvious who they are, priceless souvenir. I think this is the single best DL keepsake for a child.

My favorite souvenir!
I didn't really want the Disney logo on all of them, so I asked them to glue one set to the blank back of the paper. Apparently no one asks them to do that!
You can also photocopy them onto card stock paper and they look just as good when framed.

Where is this located and how long does it normally take?

Pretty close to the front of the park, on Main Street on the right when looking towards the castle.

About 5 minutes from the subject sitting down to being finished.

Can someone possibly post a picture of these silhouettes as I have no idea what you're talking about...

Orange County Girl....
I really like the idea of having them glued to blank white paper. You get 2 profile cutouts, right? Maybe I'll have them put one on disney paper and one on white.

We did them once before, and they look NOTHING like my kids. Has anyone else had this happen? I was sort of disappointed. They just look like a generic girl and boy. The hair, the profile, the nose......it looked so different. I'm still glad I had it done, because they are pretty inexpensive and it is wonderful to watch them work with those scissors. But I was hoping for a closer resemblance. Maybe next time we'll get another CM......

DS's silhouette looks an awful lot like Christopher Robin, it's kinda weird. But they did get the back of his head very nicely, and she even showed his eyelashes. Hubby thinks it looks just like DS, but I don't. Then again, maybe my guy's profile just looks like Christopher Robin! :goodvibes

My girls look just like my girls. I thought it was amazing how great they turned out!

I love the idea of framing them with the disney silhouette pins! I have almost all of them, so I had better track down the ones I am missing on our next trip. Is it better to have the 2 girls done individually or to do a pose with both of them? Maybe I will do both.
