I saw posts about this recently, so I HAD to have it. I LOVE it! :Pinkbounc Before I bought it, the lady at Archiver's let me try it out. It is so easy and reasonably priced at $20! This is so much easier than banging with a hammer!! I set eyelets yesterday and my DH did not even know it because it is QUIET!! :sunny:

I got mine at Joann's with the 40% off coupon! What a deal!! I really like it so far..much better than a hammer.

Ohooo...I'm going to have to check out Joann's. I've been watching my scrapshop in town..and so far none of them are carrying it....But I havn't looked at Joanns.

I tried it the other day at Archivers and really really didn't like it. The reason it's silent is becuase you are putting a lot of pressure on the eyelet to set it. Also, the package won't tell you this but it only sets the "soft" eyelets like Doodlebug. Put a Karen Foster eyelet or one of the "cheap" eyelets down and you can't set it.

Just wanted to keep you informed.

I was just at my Joann's yesterday and I didn't see it at all.....:( Does it only do the small eyelts or can you do the bigger ones also?

It will do different sizes but they have to be the "soft" metal like the doodlebug eyelets. I'm not even sure what eyelets fit into the soft metal catagory but I know the cheapie ones from like the eyelet factory and the Karen Foster ones can not be set by this Silent Setter.

Will it set the Mickey eyelets from WDW?

I set these the other day.

I don't own any Karen Foster, but I have a huge assortment of eyelets - Stampin' Up and Making Memories I know for sure - I have had no issues setting them. The woman at Archiver's said they had tried every brand of eyelets that they sell and were able to set them all.

It is best to stand when using it and to keep the eyelet close to your body for the best leverage. A hard surface is also best, even though my table "gives" a bit. I don't feel like I have to press all that hard to get it to work.

If you are concerned, take the eyelets that you use most and ask to use the tool. Everyone is different, so I would try it out before you buy it.

I LOVE it!!

Ok so here's a question. Or maybe it's more of a clarification. Someone said that you have to put pressure on it. So do you have to really push down on it type of pressure or just a bit of pushing? I had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands a few years ago and that is something that is very hard for me to do. Sounds like it'll be better if I stick to the hammer (I have a hard time putting any pressure on the area where my surgery took place and on one hand it went up most of the middle of my hand).

You guys are going to get me in so much trouble. I just bought this off of ebay because I do most of my scrapping when my DD is asleep and I can't use my hammer. The only place I can use my hammer is when I go to crops and I hate to use it there because I feel I am disturbing everyone else. I got it for $16.99 including shipping to Canada. I have not been able to find it at any of my stores here.

I haven't seen it at JoAnn's either. I have been on the look out for it. Would love to use a 40% coupon for it.

One of the Joann's here is a new built and their scrapping section is AWESOME. It is like a whole little store inside a store.

Keeping watching for it at Joanns because a gal there told me that every Joanns is getting a scrapbooking face-lift
