Signing up for Moonlight Magic if staying at Swan?

We'll be at BWV March 14, checking out March 21. We're waitlisted for the night of March 21, with a backup reservation at the Swan. I asked Member Services (I had called for other reasons) if I’d be able to book the March 21 AK Moonlight Magic on Thursday, February 8, and she said that was a good question, thought about it, then said yes, since I was still considered a guest at BWV on March 21. But, I was just reading this on the DVC site...“Members with Disney Resort hotel reservations during the event can book online beginning Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 9:00 AM” and now I’m questioning it.

Do you think (or know) that our reservation at the Swan qualifies as a Disney resort?

No, but since you are checking out of the BWV on 3/21, you should be OK. (I agree with MS). It's like the dining plan. The credits are good until midnight of the day you check out.

If the online system doesn't work for you on 2/8, call MS and see if they can make the reservation for you.

Thanks for the response, and the reassurance! I’ll post how it goes, in case anyone runs into the same issue.

MaryannDVC. I had a reservation checking out the day of the event and MS told me that didn't count, it had to be for the night of the event, but I can't confirm if that is true. Hopefully she wasn't correct.

I read your post and decided to call them again. I’m on hold now while she checks. This CM originally said what you said...sorry, reservation needs to cover night of the event. Swan doesn’t count.

OK. She came back on and said “Good news. Your reservation at the Boardwalk checking out on the 21st makes you eligible to book Moonlight Magic for the 21st tomorrow.” So I said “the reservation doesn’t have to be for the night of the event?” And she said no, you’re all set.

So there you go. Clear as mud. I’ll see what happens tomorrow and let you know.

I’m in! A little glitchy process so I was already calling MS. Neither my DH or I have gotten an email with a link yet. I used info from another thread.
