Signing up for Medicare

Anyone sign up for Medicare this year? How long did it take for you to get approved? Usual approval is supposed to take 30 days. I'm at almost 50 days. Called to see if there was a problem or if they needed more info, but they said everything is fine that they can see. Just curious what others are experiencing.

We helped sign up my wife's best friend in October of last year and she received her card in the mail 10 days later. But I suspect some regional Medicare offices are busier than others. But if you checked and they say you are okay, I would not be concerned. My wife and I signed up in 2022 and I was amazed how fast the process was.

I just signed up for Medicare this month and it took less than a week to be approved.

I signed up about a couple of years ago. It took 5 months to get my benefit started. I called a few times, they said no problems, not sure why the delay. Once it started the first check included all the missed months.
So odd things can happen, but I am aware my situation isn't the usual.

Medicare doesn't pay you. Are you thinking of Social Security?
