asking for friends.

How quickly do the gingerbread classes and CastWay 5K fill up when you’re in the Fantasy?

Friends have a 10:30 port arrival time but are considering arriving around noonish. Would either/both of these be filled up by the time they get on the ship?

Thanks!

Maybe. Maybe not. Since they have an early PAT, they will have a low boarding number. If they arrive around noon, it will be after boarding has begun (generally around 11:30). Since people boarding will have only been boarding about 30-45 minutes by the time they go through check in, not everyone will be onboard yet.

Depending on how many people KNOW about the Gingerbread house class, they could be full, or not.

Agree with Shmoo - we had a 10:45am or maybe 11:00am boarding time but didn't make it there till closer to 11:45am, and we had boarding group #8 - by the time we got there, they were already boarding up to group #12 or so.

Unless I have missed a change recently, there is no advance sign up or limit for the 5K. Just show up at the signup for the race that morning. Even if signup has changed, I have never heard of a max limit imposed (or hit, if it exists).

The 5k does not fill up. So that's a sure thing. People can walk-up day of.

I have always signed up in advance of the 5K, on both the Magic and the Fantasy, 5 cruises over the last two years. That said, there have been many participants signing up at the check-in location on CC day. On our last Fantasy cruise, there were 400 signed in. I suspect that some were just using it as a way to get off the ship right away, but lately it appears that the 5K group and the open gangway start at the same time.

May I ask where you signed up in advance? Thanks!

You can sign up for the 5k at Port AdvebAdven any time it is open. I do not advise doing it at embark. No need, and a line.

We wandered by one random day, no line, did it.

If you are there anyway for another sign up, obviously, might as well. But I wouldn't wait in an embarkation day line to sign up for the 5k.

You can also sign up for the 5K at guest services. I do that on embarkation if I am there for another reason (such as Gingerbread). However as others have said, it's not worth a trip there just for the 5K at embark since you can get it at any time.
