Staying at CSR and i've read that an advantage of staying at resorts is you can sign off everyting in parks to your room, does the resort block a large portion off your CC in advance.

It doesn't put a block on your credit card, but they do limit how much you can sign to your room. Once you hit the limit, you have to call the front desk, they'll put through what you've charged so far and reset your balace to zero. I can't remember what the limmit is at moderates, I want to say $750 but I could be wrong.

no, they don't block your CC in advance.

However they do run an authorization code to make sure that the card is active and the amount of credit they are giving you is actually available.
