We signed all the paperwork to purchase points at BCV on July 13th. I called on the 15th and DVC had our paperwork. They said they will do a credit check within 15 days ( I don't anticipate any problems). Then we will close on Aug 13th. Will we be notified by DVC in 15 days by phone or will we get something in the mail? Will we hear anything on our closing date? How long after will we hear? Can you tell I'm anxious!

Thanks from the excited newbie!

From what I remember, we didn't get a call...but we did get some sort of short letter from Disney saying we closed (I think anyway).

But I AM pretty sure that you can book a stay in a DVC resort now while you're waiting!

I'm sure you can call your guide on the 14th of August and confirm that you have, in fact, closed!

So......I offer an early "welcome home". You're gonna love it!

you can call member services if you don't have your member number they can look it up using your social security number - I closed early - very early - so ms did my reservation at VWL - 2 weeks later (on my official close date) my guide called to tell me it was closed - so they didn't tell her either that I closed before hand - you should get a phone call - but as I say call MS now and see what they say.

I received a notice in the mail about 2 weeks after we closed. MS recorded in their system the day we closed. I called that day and it was in the system by early afternoon. We had no problem making reservations using the current use year points before we closed.

In our case (not too long ago!), as soon as we gave a credit card for the deposit, our guide gave us a member number and we were in the system; we could then make reservations! Hadn't even received paperwork yet, let alone submitted it.

I need to bank my points this year by the end of July due to start date being Feb. On Sunday we called our guide and gave a credit card number for the deposit. She never gave us a membership number. She said it wouldn't be a problem banking our points by the end of July. Our credit card charge was posted today and we are waiting on our paperwork. Should I worry?

When you receive your paperwork, there will be a banking sheet included. I could be wrong, but I thought that when you signed your papers you are able to bank the points no matter where you are in your use year. I don't think this is your one time exception. I know we received the sheet in our paperwork, but since we weren't banking, I didn't really ask.
