I am just curious, what is the real difference between signature and non signature.

I read the itinerary for both, and it looks the same. Is it really just up graded hotels?

Can't afford to consider signature this year, but I am just curious for future reference. I do think the trips are worth the cost for what you get, but I do wonder if it is worth the cost just for upgraded hotels?

On Day 3, for the Signature trip, you have the morning on your own, and then in the afternoon, you go to Castel Saint'Angelo and Saint Peter's. Then you visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistene Chapel after-hours. I would assume it's probably less crowded then. For the non-signature, you do the Vatican Museum and Sistene Chapel in the morning, then have the rest of the day on your own.

On Day 4, for the Signature trip, you have an Olive Oil & Wine tasting when you arrive at your hotel.

On Day 5, the pasta making for the Signature trip is at a farm, for the non-signature, it's at a castle.

On Day 6, for the Signature trip, you have an added activity which is a visit to the Academy of Leather Crafts at a Monastery.

On Day 8, for the Signature trip, there's an additional activity which is a visit to the Murano Factory and a glass-blowing demonstration. Your farewell dinner is also on a Galleon ship.

Besides these differences, and the upgrades to your Hotels & Restaurants, there are some differences as to which meals are included and where.

ETA: Also, they are making changes to the Italy trip. That could mean anything. From eliminating the Signature trip to combining the two trips (I would *LOVE* that!) to who knows what. We'll need to wait & see what comes out on the 22nd!

yeah, I am excited to see what they announce, and knowing me I will have my mind made up on the 21st... and then come the 22nd I will change my mind, then when I book on the 23rd... I will have changed my mind again to something I wasn't considering.

hence, why I need to book soon... too many mind changes :

PS Sayhello, I love your trip reports, you are not helping me with my decision as they all look AMAZING

Hi OP! :goodvibes I just got back from an ABD training and they have done away with the separate signature experiences and combined them. My sales manager mentioned that because everyone was booking the signatures and they were selling out so quickly that Disney has decided to just go with the upgraded experiences now. For Italy next year this also means a private after hours tour of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. So so awesome!!!:thumbsup2

We have done the "after hour" Sistine Chapel tour with DCL in 2007 and it was amazing. Not only were we in a small group touring the Vatican Museum but we were in the Chapel JUST US!!!! We took pictures and video. It was a wonderful way to see the Vatican rather than the cattle car tour group. I suspect ABD would be similar tour type in their Signature trip.
