What is your favorite signature place and why? I will have a few days alone on my March trip and I want to try a couple of the signature restaurants. So tell me about your favorite please :) Also include your favorite dish. Thanks

Flying Fish is my favorite signature. I like the tuna tartar, the seared ahi, the scallops. Take your pick, they are all delicious.

For dessert, I will always get a cheese plate over anything else.

Jiko and Citricos are my two favs. I also really like Flying Fish, Artist Point, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Il Mulino, bluezoo and Shula's (the last three are not technically "signature" restaurants in the dining plan meaning of the word, but are just as good as the signature restaurants).

In order....Cirticos,Yachtsman, Narcoosees, Cal. Grill. We also love Shula's and Fulton's (not on the dining plan).

Thanks everyone. Would any of these be more appropriate for a solo diner?

I have only been lucky enough to eat at Flying Fish and Jiko. Both of these meals were fantastic.

For a single diner, I would choose Jiko. Our waiter was wonderful. Explained alot and spent time just talking (we had a late reservation, so were his last table - I think). At Jiko, you can sit over by the open kitchen, so if you didn't have a tablemate to talk to, there would still be something to keep you interested.

Food was wonderful. I do not eat seafood so I had the Ostrich (very tasty and I would definately try again - it has a beef taste), then the filet with the mac and cheese (the filet was melt in your mouth incredible. I have heard many great reviews on the mac and cheese but, I thought the wine taste was very strong and therefore I didn't enjoy it) and finally the dessert was chocolate cheesecake with lavender ice cream. Never thought of this flavor of ice cream as something I would try but it was very light and refreshing and paired wonderfully with the heavy chocolate taste.

Best of luck in making your decision!

Cal. Grill has a nice bar area, which would b great for a solo trip. DH and I plan to stop in at the bar/lounge for a glass of wine and appies one night on our next trip in March.:thumbsup2 ( plus I adore their sushi and DH loves their flatbread)

California Grill and Jiko are our favorites!

At Cali Grill my app was this delicious rock shrimp salad wish a wasabi & avacado cream... to die for! My husband loved the filet at Cali, as well as Jikoe. We loved Jiko so much that we cancelle dour reservation for Citricos to dine at Jiko again during our trip this past May!

Jiko is just wonderful! I dined there solo at the open kitchen aka chefs bar/table. You sit on high stools and you can watch them prepare stuff. You can also chat with them about the things they are doing. And to top it off the food was fantastic!

Thanks everyone. Would any of these be more appropriate for a solo diner?

Jiko, CG, FF and Citricos all have bar/counter areas where you can dine which might be more fun if you are dining solo. Narcoosees has a bar area but not sure you can dine in there. Yachtsman and AP do not have bar counters where you can dine.

Narcoosses is my fave. I wish I could buy the butter to take home. The desserts were delicous too. Something as bland sounding as the strawberry shortcake has that extra umph there for some reason. The view is wonderful as well.

Does anyone know if I would need or could make an ADR for eating at the bar area? Thanks for all the good info;)

I like Citricos the most...I think. Cali Grill is either tied or very close.
Anything on the menus is fabulous.

You can make an ADR for any of these places, and just request to sit at the bar/counter when you get there.

Yachtsman does not have a bar counter, but the Crew's Cup, which has a bar, is adjacent and you can order most Yachtsman menu items there. My husband and I have enjoyed many Yachtsman goodies at the Crew's Cup over the years. Love that place, a very relaxing atmosphere and good bartenders.

Flying Fish is our favorite also. We haven't been to Citrico's yet but have an ADR for December. In addition to Flying Fish we also like Narcoosee's, Jiko, and Artist's Point. We've been to the Cali Grill twice in the last six months and were not overly impressed with either the food or service.

Thanks for all your replies!!!! I'm planning for Jiko and one other :)
