Signature restaurants now doing courtesy calls?

I got a call from the California Grill today reminding me about my reservation for my trip on July 20.

I didn't know they were doing this?

Then she said "We have you down as participating in our "Sweetheart menu" where you will choose from a selected menu." I told her I didn't know anything about that and that we were on the dining plan and she said she would get that changed on our reservation!

Weird!

Ya know, I have read on on the boards about this happening as of recently. I like the idea, but goodness gracious! We go to signatures for most of our dinners thanks to the Deluxe Plan, that'd be a LOT of calls!

That is sort of nice I guess. But what if this sweetheart menu was a big surprise or something for you- they just ruined it!

V&A's has always done the courtesy call, but I don't remember calls from any of the other signature restaurants.

I've gotten calls from the Chefs at the restaurants due to food allergies, but never a confirming my reservation call.
