Is anyone having a signature drink? I want one but don't have room in the budget to spend MORE money on food or drink. Does it cost more money? And, for those that did have one, did you make it up or did Disney come up with something fabulous for you? Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Sorry I can't help either but I know one bride, I think her user name is Sunshine, had a signature drink made which looked Yummy!

Having a signature drink can actually save you money. Some people serve soft drinks, beer and maybe wine but no other liquor and then offer a signature drink as the only mixed drink. You save because you only have to pay for the liquor needed to make that one drink! :thumbsup2

They charge per drink, but Carrie's right--it can save money if you're not doing an open bar. Right now, we're having the soft drinks package, bringing our own champagne (we have to pay Disney a $22 corking fee + tip for what they'd charge), and having mimosas ($9.50 per drink, I think). We're also debating adding a second drink, but if it's the same price, it won't be more expensive (unless people decide that instead of one drink, they need to have both....). I'd say having a signature drink is worth it if you're not doing the package bar, but probably not worth the extra cost if you are.

We are doing a signature drink- "Blushing Bride" it is a champagne cocktail we are using instead of plain champagne it is $9 per drink. And a non-alcoholic Shirley temple for the kids $4 per drink.

:)

ooh! thats a good idea! I love shirley temples :cutie:
how much is it for just a reg. champagne toast?

I had planned an alcoholic signature drink based on adding vodka to the Polynesian Lillikoi juice they serve at Kona Cafe in the mornings. I am having a brunch reception and it would have been $9.00 per drink. We eventually decided to not have alcohol at all and instead we are still going to offer the special Lillikoi juice as part of the offered beverages at brunch at $5.00 per drink :goodvibes

I was originally thinking of doing the hosted beer & wine bar with a signature drink but the difference between the full bar & the beer and wine bar wasn't that substantial. I guess this means no signature drink for me! Why do they charge more when I am already paying for it? It makes no sense to me!!! I will just carry a cute flask around with my own signature drink all day! I can tuck it into my bouquet if need be! :)

we just had white and red wine at dinner (selected for us by one of DL's sommeliers), with a champagne toast. I don't really remember how much it all came out to, but we had no bar. I believe coffee and tea were included in our buffet...maybe soft drinks...is it bad that I don't know? lol

i had a signature drink. it was a baybreeze to go the the boardwalk theme and color pink. i also had pink sugar on the rims. everyone loved it.
yes they charge per drink.

Ahhhhh ;) Lilikoi! So good! We lived in Hawaii for 12 years...that stuff is the best!! :thumbsup2

We considered this...as I was doing the beer and wine pkg. I am NOT a beer or wine drinker, I like fruity drinks, so what I decided to do is add a cash bar for the hard stuff because so many of the women attending liked that stuff bette, so at least it was avaliable. I know to some it may sound tacky, but everything just got sooo expensive and I felt bad not at least offering it.

So many people do cash bars... but they don't include wine and beer. Don't feel bad, it's expensive to have a wedding and at least it's there if they want it, they'll appreciate that!
