Signature AP question

My DD20 purchased her Signature AP 3/30/17 and is on the payment plan. She's going tomorrow for the first time to use it. When she looked at her account online it stated the expiration is 3/30/18. Isn't the expiration date supposed to be a year after activation no matter when you have purchased it? Also, another strange thing is the last time we purchased an AP which was over a year ago it was only required to make the deposit of like $97 but this time she not only had to make the $97 deposit but also the monthly payment of $62.67. I'm just curious if this is the new process or if it has something to do with why the expiration date is a year from the purchase date. I appreciate any and all assistance with any advice.

Edited to add: her eticket states it expires 3/30 not her online account.

They've always taken the first monthly payment within a few days of purchasing an AP, even with a deposit. Otherwise the last payment would be after the AP has expired. It says this online right under the place where you can select monthly payments. It's also in the contract they give you at the booth. How and where did she buy the AP? Did she buy a new AP or renew an AP before it expired?

Ok maybe I just don't remember the monthly payment being deducted from my account. She purchased the AP online through the Disneyland website and this is not a renewal it is a new AP as we haven't had AP's in over a year.

I'd wait to see if it updates after she's used it, and if not, go to the ticket booth. I was going to say it shouldn't even be on her account because it's an e-ticket, but then I remembered that they reuse the AP numbers year after year now.

I told her to go to the ticket booth first thing before activating it. I wonder if anyone else has seen this on their eticket before. And I don't think she's ever created or accessed an AP online account before as I paid for the last one and handled everything. This is her first trip going with friends. Its her second trip traveling from San Jose to LA. I want things to go well for her. Says the worried mom.:love1:

If her eticket says it expires 3/30, I think that just means she has to activate it by that day. That's not the expiration date for the AP, it's the expiration date for the eticket, which is basically just a voucher to get an AP.

This is a valid point.

She will need to talk to someone in the ticket booths to get the expiration changed. When we upgraded our tickets to ap's, the system wanted to make our expiration date the day the tickets were purchased. A manager had to fix it for us.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I appreciate it. I'll tell her to do this.

I just checked the etickets for the APs I purchased and they also show an expiration date of one year from the purchase date. But I'm pretty confident that that is just the expiration for the voucher. We don't plan to activate until October, so I sure hope that's the case.

I'll report back what happens tomorrow. I'm sure the issue will be resolved. Thanks everyone!:o

I'd also assume the expiration date was for the AP voucher and not the AP. We purchased out Signature AP's on the payment plan last Sep and didn't activate until Dec and the voucher had an expiration date on it. When she activates it they should tell her when the AP expires.

This exactly! We've had to do this every time we've bought APs. Make sure she goes to the ticket booth and is very clear with the CM to update the expiration date. They have to manually override it in the system.

Did she buy the AP on line and get a voucher? When I bought mine the voucher itself had an expiration date (one year from date of purchase). When we redeemed the voucher at the ticket booth, they based the AP expiration date on the current date (not the date the voucher expired). I'd double check the AP expiration date after she redeems the voucher, but it should be based on that date (and not the date of purchase).

When she went to the ticket booth to get the actual AP they updated the expiration date from a year from today so, all went well. I just don't remember seeing this before. Thanks for everyone's input.
