****Sigh*****

Oh I feel for you!

As I was sitting at DD dance class in January, all of a sudden I realized I had no idea when the recital was, other than it was in June.
This is her first year in dance, so I don't know what the usual timeframe is.
We'll be in HH June 4-11, so I was worried. They've been working so hard on their routines every week and I knew I'd have to try to switch my vacation around if it overlapped.
Thankfully(!) the recital is June 26th.

Skip the recital and go on vacation. They are so young that they will be happy doing whatever makes you happy. Plus you had your plans first. Too bad your studio didn't poll the parents to see what was good if school is already out. Our studio did that twice and gave us only three weeks notice! Turned out alot of families already had plans and couldn't go. The first time we re-arranged out plans and went, the second time we skipped it. Our daughter was only 4 and danced about 1 minute in the show. Not worth the aggravation. Go to HHI and have a great time!

Here is the kicker to all this... The dance studio is making a big deal outta the recital. They are already talking about it to the kids and getting them excited about it. So now... after every dance class (from now until the recital) the kids will be exposed to how wonderful the show will be and they will be missing it.

I dont suppose I could talk them into NOT talking about the recital in my girls class..... :rotfl2:
