*Sigh* One pin set I won't be buying!

Why wouldn't you buy that pin set, dreams? At $63 retail for 7 pins, it's a pretty decent price per pin. I see that the individual pins are 10.95

Of course, it might be tough to get since it's a limited release of 500 - but since it's your favorite attraction ...

did I miss read it?

Oh, the pin set is a good deal, especially with the 500 size.

I won't be buying it because I don't think any Disney characters should be added to IASW (Jasmine, circling the pyramids? really???). That's not what the ride has ever been about and I am in the group of people that are really against the additions. Disney is aware there are many who don't want to see the characters in the classic ride. There is a part of me that wonders if that is part of why the pin set is such a small edition size. You would think they would make more for a re-opening of such a popular attraction.

I am still hoping that maybe, somehow, possibly, they aren't going to be in there when the walls come down again, but this pin set seems to confirm that they will. - sigh - I adore this attraction, always have (ask Lady just how much haha!), but Disney characters just don't belong in it.

Hope you are doing well,
Dreams

Well, I won't buy them either but that's because I think they are ugly. LOL Otherwise I'd be all over that! :) That's a great deal for LE pins.

I wouldn't either cause they are ugly but the idea of them was cute. I am excited for the new ride :)

When is IASW reopenning? I was completely unaware it was closed and they were doing this. We are going in May. Sure would be nice to see the original one last time.

Just read this on the AP website:

Join us for a special preview of the newly enhanced "it's a small world" before the official reopening! Dubbed "the happiest cruise that ever sailed the world" at the New York World's Fair 45 years ago, "it's a small world" takes you on a joyful boat ride as memorable as the delightful song that serenades you on your journey.

This classic attraction has been renovated, adding new places as well as familiar faces. Be sure to look for some of the "it's a small world" dolls dressed up as some of your favorite Disney characters in the countries where those stories take place!

Annual Passholder special preview:

* Thursday, February 5, 2009
* 10:00am - 8:00pm

Just show your Annual Pass to the Cast Member at the attraction entrance to be permitted entry during this special time.

The attraction opens to the public on Friday, February 6, 2009.

Previews are on a first-come, first-serve basis and may involve long wait times. Each Guest must show a valid Annual Passport to be permitted entry during this specific preview time. Valid Theme Park admission is required. Event subject to change without notice.

Sounds like they will "dress up" the dolls to look like Disney Characters.hmmmmmmmmm? I hope it is subtle...

If I was really into collecting pins I would buy them. I think they are kinda cute.

I hope so too. I will reserve judgement on it until after I ride it in May. I hope the lines arn't so long then.

(Jasmine, circling the pyramids? really???).

...Like she did in the movie? Wow, they sure are crazy! ;)

But really, while Egypt does not equal Agrabah, at least the pyramids (and the Sphinx) showed up in the film Aladdin, unlike the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower (which happen to apear in another Aladdin themed production at the Resort...)

at Hong Kong Disney they have the characters in IASW. It took me about a quarter of the way through the ride to realize it, but yes, they are there, in the general area where their stories are set, but not always just right.

Hmmm, I think you missed my point of view. Yes, that is like it was in the movie. However, IASW is not about the movies (or at least hasn't been since its existence). It's about uniting people around the world. IMO, Jasmine (and others) has no place in this classic Disney ride. It's just, I guess cheesy is the word.
