We just got back home today from out four day mini vacation.

This time of year is our favorite time to go. Four years ago, I went to Universal for my very first time with just a girlfriend of mine. The following year we both took our DH's. Last year we both then took out Dh's and our oldest sons.
This year we didn't go with our friends...but we took our entire family of 5.
We already had the power passes for the family - and since we live in Florida - we figured four days wouldn't cost so much...should have known! haha
We stayed at the RPR - this was our second time staying there. We loved it last year so much (our friends stayed at the Hard Rock last year - we like the tropical flare more) that we wanted to stay there again.
I had all my little discounts all ined up to see what would be the best deal....Florida residents worked best for us. We got the hotel for $119 for Apri28 and 29th - and the rate jumped to $134 for the weekend.
In my little head of mine, I was thinking - ok , I already paid for one hotel when we booked on the credit card - so all we would owe was about $250....silly me forgot the $6 / day for the parking (which is well worth it anyway) and the taxes...paid $310 at checkout - still unbeatable for the front of the line!!!
We left early WEd morning - 5:30am so we could get checked in and at the park early in the morning. We arrived at RPR around 8:30am and there was no line to check in - (always seemed like the longest lines at check in at disney) I had my Loews # ready and they asked what welcome gift we wanted - chose the cookies and milk for the kiddies. They gave us our Keys - which were also the express passes for the lines at the park - we hurried and unloaded the suitcases in our rooms and quick as thing 1 and 2 we were off the IOA!!
THe walk is not bad at all - takes 5 mins maybe there - always seems a wee bit longer at the end of a long day! The park had just opened and we headed straight to Hulk. Now , my 6yo was iffy about riding this...we had her measured and I think they were able to get a pinky nail under the board - and she was not able to ride - much to her relief! haha The hulk is rough on my head. For some reason it gives me a headache every time. I always try it once but sure enough...headache. So, DD and I ride storm force while Dh, DS and 8yo DD do HUlk..they love it.
We then head to Dr Doom. Now, you have to know my DH - he makes deals with the kids all the time..if you do this , I"ll give you that...so awhile back he told me 8yp DD if she rode Dr Doom, he would give her $10...she was prepared! Couldn't get my 11yoDS back on it, haha - but DD did it! And actually loved it! While they were on that - I took DD and 6yoDs on Spiderman.
You might have thought I was torturing my DD. She was hysterical. Hated MY favorite ride! GEEZ, this is not looking good!
She was sobbing begging me to never take her on it again. I told her she didn't have to do anything she didn't want. Man.
WE then head to the (ut oh, can't think of the exact name, hehe) Bruto ride - you know the one...where you get SOAKED! I thought I cam prepared this time, had towels, took off the shoes, wore "quick" drying clothes...even checked I didn't have pink underwear on like last time (oh, those 11yo boys won't let me live that one down) . Since we were so soaked, we might as well go on Rip Saw falls - where even if you think you might not get wet...there are such nice people who pay $$ to make sure you do!
Not sure how much more room I have to type..so I"ll write more on another message=)
To be continued.....
